AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Composer Alan Silvestri Teases His "Different Experience" Scoring The Movie

After working on Captain America: The First Avenger and The Avengers, it's fair to say that Alan Silvestri is no stranger to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He ended up being replaced by Danny Elfman and Brian Taylor on Avengers: Age of Ultron after clashing with director Joss Whedon but he's now making his return for Avengers: Infinity War, the culmination of a story which kicked off way back in 2008.

His theme for Earth's Mightiest Heroes could be heard in the first teaser for the Russo Brothers helmed release and fans are understandably excited to see what he brings to the table later this month.

"It’s funny because I feel like everything is still shaking… the dust hasn’t quite settled just yet," Silvestri said when asked about his work scoring Infinity War. "I wrapped Infinity War yesterday, and it was a really different experience than anything I’d done before, especially in regard to the approach and balancing quick shifts in tone." That makes a lot of sense, especially as so many characters will be popping up here in very different situations as the story bounces across an entire universe!

The soundtrack listing for the movie will probably pop up online any day now but there's a chance Marvel will hold off on revealing that due to the fact it could contain spoilers for various moments. What do you guys think of these remarks? As always, let us know your thoughts down below.

When people come up with that argument “the MCU doesn’t have memorable scores” and make entire video essays about it, they always seem to forget the OG Avengers theme. By far the most iconic one in the MCU and an overall memorable movie theme

@Nelemico2000 - I know it wasn't necessarily the most striking or iconic, but this moment made it what it is; and is also why it made the end of that first trailer so great.

@Nelemico2000 - Plus, this score is gorgeous (and one of the best scenes in the MCU).

@Nelemico2000 - not to mention, they compare it to movies that have been using the same theme across multiple movies.

@MosquitoFarmer - also when they say goodbye to Odin in Ragnarok

@Nelemico2000 - All things considered, I'm pretty sure his Avengers theme is in the top 3-4 most iconic Superhero themes only behind William's Superman, Elfman's Batman and maybe Elfman's Spider-Man

@Nelemico2000 - All the MCU themes are memorable and fantastic. I personally know them all by heart. When your universe has Djawadi, Armstrong, Doyle, Silvestri, Elfman, Tyler, Jackman, Bates, Beck, Giacchino, Mothersbaugh and Gorannson... forgetting the scores means you just have bad memory.

@MosquitoFarmer - I swear the first two Thor movies have some of the best moments in the entirety of the MCU. I occasionally put on Thor/TDW and watch certain scenes because they're great. Suck that I never enjoyed both of them to the extent I do other CBMs because I really wanted to love them.

@RocknRolla - I think it helps that for the marketing campaign, they're using the theme more and more, so people are becoming more exposed to it

This theme still gives me chills!

Amazing movie scores make up about 50% of these superhero films. What Happened to Elfman man? The dude has had a few hits and misses lately. Veey excited for a fresh new theme. I think Avengers has a theme that's right up there in the top 10 superhero film scores.

@TheRationalNerd - I did not care for what Elfman did with the Superman and Batman theme in JL. He shouldn't have tried to incorporate the old themes and instead make something new.

Bad decision #127 with that film.

I'm really just excited to hear what Silvestri does with Black Panther's theme

@OmegaDaGrodd - Oh same. I hope Black Panther has a moment when the theme just kicks in, because it really gets me pumped. And I better hear that Okoye/Dora Milaje cue!
