VIDEO GAMES: Captain America Battles A.I.M. Soldiers In A New Character Promo For MARVEL'S AVENGERS

After releasing the opening prologue for the game, Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have dropped a new character trailer for Marvel's Avengers, which puts the spotlight on the leader of the superhero team.

Fans of the iconic Marvel Comics’ team were recently treated to a lengthy gameplay trailer for Marvel’s Avengers, and now we have a new character promo for the forthcoming game from Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics.

This latest teaser is less than a minute long, but it still reveals some new snippets of gameplay that highlight Captain America as he battles several A.I.M. soldiers

Along with showcasing a few of the Avengers' combat abilities, the new footage also teases one of the many alternate costumes players will be able access. And considering the less-than-positive reception to the default outfit, many fans will probably be eager to give Steve Rogers some new duds.

That scale suit looks pretty cool though. Also like the clear MCU influence on Cap's moves.

Looks ok for some quick clips but..... Just think how amazing it would have been if Insomniac Games made it.

The character models look like trash but I’m liking the combat moves by Cap. Aside from how much I disagree with Cap’s look, the gameplay might be on point. Gotta wait and see.

Geez. This game's art style is so very, very bland, uninspired and generic. It doesn't have that colourful Marvel atmosphere. "Let's make a Marvel game and go for a brown and grey palette."

No personality in the design and some of the voices are bland too.

So many opinions for so little substance seen so far. Lol. Some of you never fail to be bitter.

I have my reservations too but it's not nearly as bad as some of you make it out to be. Jesus.

Personally, I think this game is coming together just fine. They certainly have some polishing to do. (And some conditioning as it pertains to Black Widow's and Thor's hair.) But the combat looks great and I'm excited to learn more about this gear system. Supposedly they have the different tiers we're familiar with (rare, epic, legendary, etc.). We also haven't seen the co-op dynamic at all. Or the different game modes. Or the unlockable characters. There's still a lot left to be seen...

Also, Cap is a BEAST

Why can’t designers try to make Captain America’s costume LESS bulky and clumsy?

Pouches and belts and straps and bags and buckles and armor and on and on and on.........

It’s funny because the original Captain America costume was designed during World War 2! So the design mentality of the time fit the character and was contemporary. And the classic Captain America costume (616 Marvel) looks like an UPGRADE from the silly costumes that have sprung from the movies.

The near perfect Captain America costume was still the USO costume he wore during CA:TFA. Although it was supposed to be a joke...it actually looks BETTER (minus the ill fitting headgear) than nearly everything he wore afterwards (the stealth CA:TWS costume being the exception).

They are definitely highlighting the SOLDIER aspect of the outfit. At first I didn't really know how to react to it myself but after seeing it in motion the more and more I actually like it.

Classic spandex looking Cap suit is great (especially when drawn by great artists) but I have grown to love the more armored/tactical look ever since they brought that into the comics years back. I like the helmet look more than the cowl.
