Marvel has posted these B-Roll clips from New York Comic Con to help promote The Avengers so promote we shall!

Man, they really need to practice saying Avengers Assemble in a unified fashion. But all jokes aside, I better hear Cap shouting that line by himself come May 4, 2012.

The Avengers is a team of superheroes, appearing in magazines published by Marvel Comics. The team made its debut in The Avengers #1 (Sept. 1963), and was created by writer-editor Stan Lee and artist / co-plotter Jack Kirby, following the trend of super-hero teams after the success of DC Comics with the Justice League.

The Avengers is an upcoming American superhero film produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures, based upon the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name. It is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which crosses over several Marvel superhero films including Iron Man (2008), The Incredible Hulk (2008), Iron Man 2 (2010), Thor (2011) and Captain America: The First Avenger (2011). The film is written and directed by Joss Whedon and features an ensemble cast, which includes Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo and Cobie Smulders. The Avengers tells the story of Nick Fury, director of the peacekeeping organization S.H.I.E.L.D., who recruits Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, and Captain America to save the world from destruction.

Development of The Avengers began when Marvel Studios received a grant from Merrill Lynch in April 2005. After the success of the film Iron Man, Marvel announced that The Avengers would be released in July 2011. With the signing of Scarlett Johansson in March 2009, the film was pushed back for a 2012 release. Whedon was brought on board in April 2010 and rewrote the screenplay that was originally written by Zak Penn. Production began in April 2011 in Albuquerque, New Mexico before moving to Cleveland, Ohio in August.

The Avengers is scheduled to be released on May 4, 2012 in the United States.

Wish they would promote it by showing us the footage. Only thing I dislike about the Disney buyout is no leaked footage at all. Interviews are cool though. All of them seem to be very kosh.

On a friendly side note: The paragraph reading "The Avengers is a team of superheroes...." is repeated up above.

To those of you who got in I;m glad you did. But there were hundreds of us, myself included who got to the waiting room at 3:45, and andd the while thst we were in line, nobody told us that the IGN Theater was full and thst we could not get in. So we waited until 7:00 for nothing only to be told by unsympathetic convention workers to go away. I swear there were almost riots. [frick] THAT SHIT! That is no way to treat us fans. For a lot of us, that was the main reason to go to Comic Con. There should have been multilpe showings in muliple rooms. [frick] some of the smaller events. This takes priority. I really hope the Javitts Center learns from this cluster[frick] and makes up for it next year.

I have to point out that a lot of these seat planters were VIP... people who paid extra had who first dips on pretty much everything including seating. Not that's it fair, it's not, but paying premium has it's benefits.
