Hello fellow CBM community I thought I would share my in depth excitement for the past, present, and future of the Avengers saga that is currently culminating as we speak. I've been a member of CBM for over two years now, although I've visited the site years before I became a member. I thought I would give an editorial a shot since it seems like alot of fun reading others thoughts and opinions as well. So I hope you enjoy my ramblings and fan boy cheer as you read along. When the first Iron Man emerged from the cradle of Marvel Studios, I had to admit it was a dream come true. And then the onslaught of others were belted out with just as much glory. We finally were able to see our favorite characters come to life before our eyes, the way we always dreamed. And the story continues to unfold with the prime finale that is "The Avengers." With each end credit and minute easter egg, the puzzle pieces found their place, which leaves the question of what "Phase Two" will have in store for us. Now the first Phase has taken us five years so to speak to reach Avengers with Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, and Captain America preceding. Im sure that after Avengers, many loose ends will tie and we will then again trek through another five or so years until the next. Which brings the question of where we will go from here. Will the line up change? Or will we stay with the current roster? Since we all know that other works such as Doctor Strange, and Ant Man are in the process as well, what is the possibility of these stories tying into the Avengers saga? My ambition is that the saga itself will end in a roster possibly consisting of many new members, the question is how will Marvel lay this out for us. With the gathering of the team already taken place, how will they top their most current efforts to give us golden cinematic greatness. And what new end credits and eggs can we hope to find. If we tie all the clues together we can realize that the saga is going to go cosmic very soon, with the possibility of Thanos being included I can see a small adaptation of the Infinity Gauntlet taking place between A2 and A3. I enjoy the wait as much as I enjoy the deliverance of each movie, and I again will be amoung those who stand in line for the midnight screenings. But I cant help but wonder how it will all come together for us all after ten more years of this. I guess all we can do is sit back and enjoy the ride...

Cool write up. Like the energy, and I'm right there with you on the excitement level.

I do have a suggestion though. Use paragraphs, dude. You will get more positive responses from the folks who frequent the editorial page by spacing out your writing. Nobody likes to read a wall of text.

(An example of a spot to break the wall)
"....So I hope you enjoy my ramblings and fan boy cheer as you read along."

" When the first Iron Man emerged from the cradle of Marvel Studios, I had to admit it was a dream come true....."

Anyways, thumbs up from me.

Yea if you could split up those paragraphs that would be much better.

Yea well i think we can expect to keep this roster for the next two avengers films (with additions) then contracts start running out so things will get a little tricky. My guess is we will get a New Avengers trilogy but we will have to wait and see plus that wont be for atleast another decade.

I think in 2020 either the MCU is going to go in a completely new direction... or its going to fissile out completely

Nice write up - really conveys your sense of enthusiasm. Not sure if you have seen it yet but maybe you would like to check out my timeline for the MCU?

As for the line up in sequels - I can see certain characters and actors taking more of a backseat. I would expect RDJ, after IM3, to semi-retire from the role. He'll have been doing it for sometime now and he isn't getting any younger. Maybe cameos only as I can't see his Tony Stark getting recast in this universe.

But others will be added to fill the void (so to speak). Having said that I think I can easily see Hemsworth and Evans complete three avengers films.

Thing about Iron Man and Hulk is they are CGI so they can keep appearing even after the actors finish... even a retired RDJ im sure would happily provide voice overs.

Some rebirth storyline could easily replace actors for thor and loki (a female perhaps)... on saying that an extremis storyline could bring in a younger Tony.

Sweet write up :) I'm seeing a splitting of teams in the near future, in order to work in so many characters. At the end of the Avengers, I wouldn't be surprised to see more than one ending teaser to showcase the properties they got back (Blade and Punisher). It'll basically show that more superheroes are popping up in the MU.

I don't think RDJ's age is a factor here. After all, the suit does all the heavy duty. But I think it will happen like Feige said, the roster in The Avengers 2 will change, Cap or THor will remain, probably Cap and they will shift the focus to the cosmic part of the Marvel Universe so that in The Avengers 3 we can see a movie in a sclae that will top everything made before it, I hope.

Nice article, it made me think s little about future sequels. It's clear Marvel are planing to do an Avengers trilogy, along with The Iron Man trilogy ending in 2013, and most likely Thor and Cap will also get 3 solo's in total, keeping this in mind, with one or two movies every year, wouldn't it bee to much to wait for Avengers 3(phase 3 of their plan) till who knows 2020?? It's too much! So I am hoping that After IM3 Thor 2 and the 2014 movies we should Get Avengers 2 and 3 back to back, think about it, just like Harry Potter, and this will make an end of movie Easter Egg for the next villain plausible. Some people keep wishing for an Ultron easter egg at the end of the Avengers, but what sense would that make if the next movies are solo's for IM,Thor, Ant-man maybe?
