12 Overused Actors In Fan Casting

Have you already see fan cast for Justice League? For me, I like to see which actors, people cast for playing Spider-Man, Batman or Lex Luthor, and I just realize there are many actors we always see casting in these fan casting. Here’s my list.

Have you already see fan cast for Justice League? For me, I like to see which actors, people cast for playing Spider-Man, Batman or Lex Luthor, and I just realize there are many actors we always see casting in these fan casting. Here’s my list. (sorry for my bad English)

  1. Idris Elba (Heimdall in Thor movies)
As John Stewart’s Green Lantern, Lex Luthor, Black Panther, Martian Manhunter, Cyborg, James Bond, Luke Cage…
 
  1. Benedict Cumberbatch (Khan in Star Trek : Into Darkness)
As Brainiac, Martian Manhunter, Doctor Strange (before he get casted) or any CBM character

I agree that these actors are frequently used in fancast and are a bit unoriginal but the truth is that you need some starpower for a big movie. Regular audiences are not gonna see a movie with some unknown TV actor as a lead, you'll need big names to get big box office. Sometimes you can get lucky with a unknown breakout star, like Chris Hemsworth in Thor but they stuffed their movie with a well kwown support cast which average moviegoers knew and recognized (Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins).

That is my main critism when I see some of the fancasts on this site. Often they are filled with actors most people don't give a rats ass about. You need to sell your movie and that doesn't work with unknowns alone.

Also funny is that when somebody unexpected is cast for a comic book role, like Ezra Miller for the Flash, people are also unhappy. I guess you can't do right for everyone

P.S. Why the hate for Eva Green. She's awesome. Okay, she played in a lot of bad movies, but most of the time she was the only redeeming part about them (Looking at you, 300).

I will never understand why anybody would want Scott Adkins in any CBM.

Sure, he's got great martial arts prowess, but...Wade Wilson?

I would definitely watch a Scott Adkins CBM. He's not a bad actor at all (watch Undiputed 3...he's money as Boyka). And, his martial arts skills are second to none. He'd make a great Punisher (not as good as Tom Jane), but he'd also be pretty good as a range of darker characters.

I've also seen Javier Bardem in several casts (even ones done by myself, haha). Very popular villain choice with Christoph Waltz, for good reason. Mary Elizabeth Winstead is also a pretty popular pick.
Some that are used repeatedly for only the same role:
Robert Knepper as Carnage. I honestly don't think anyone but the first guy that did that knows anything about the actor or character, and everyone just keeps copying him.
Ben Foster as Electro. Same thing.
Jessica Chastain as Jean Grey. Because she's the only redheaded actress anyone knows.
Patrick Warburton as Shazam. For obvious reasons.
Christian Kane as Wolverine. I don't get it. He's way too clean looking. Whatever.

Accurate list but why is Ryan Gosling considered a bad actor? He's been in some stinkers but he's far from bad and the same goes for Eva Greene.

You forgot to mention the ridiculous nature of posting fan casting in editorials! I want to know fans definitive opinions of shows, movies, and actual casts rather than dreams.
