BATGIRL Actor Refers To Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav As An "Imbecile"

An actor from the now cancelled Batgirl movie, who wishes to remain anonymous, has referred to Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav as an "imbecile" during a new interview.

The recent decision to scrap the almost-complete Batgirl movie by new Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav did not go over very well (to say the least). Directors Bilall Fallah & Adil El Arbi and star Leslie Grace have released measured, respectful statements expressing their disappointment, but one cast member was a lot less diplomatic in their response!

The actor, who wishes to remain anonymous for obvious reasons, issued the following to Indiewire in response to the site's previous coverage of Batgirl's cancellation.

"I am very offended by what happened and feel terrible for the directors and Leslie Grace, who were all wonderful to work with, as well as all of the technicians. It was an enormous, rewarding challenge to make this movie during Covid, and during the cold weather in Glasgow. None of these things matter to an imbecile like [Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav]. His cowardice is breathtaking. I am glad I got to participate and I wish the best for all those involved — except the suits at Warner Brothers. But they all get replaced sooner than later."

Some have pointed out the irony of the actor calling out Zaslav's cowardice while keeping their name off this interview, but it's easy enough to understand why they wouldn't want to risk any negative impact on their career at the same time.

There's been some speculation that it might be either Michael Keaton or J.K. Simmons, but the mysterious individual is only said to have a "minor role" in the film. Based on what we've heard, this could still apply to Keaton, but something tells us the Batman star would have no problem leaving his name on this kind of statement!

The chances of us ever getting to see Batgirl for ourselves are very slim, but we recently learned that Warner Bros. Pictures Group chiefs Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy have reached out to the actress and are "entertaining the possibility of having her continue to play Batgirl in a future DC film.”

''I wish the best for all those involved — except the suits at Warner Brothers''

Sometimes, I feel the same way. But in their and Zaslav's defense, they do have to clean up a three billion dollar mess. And so I suggest: cancel the damn Flash movie and get that massive tax-write off already!
