The Sun reports that a film extra who worked on Warner Bros. Discovery's ill-fated Batgirl movie is now suing the studio after nearly being killed by a speeding motorbike.

Cristina Stanovic has gone so far as to say it would have been "easier" if she'd died in the wake of multiple operations which have left her with visible scars and life-altering injuries (you can see photos by heading over to the site). As well as cutting her head, the extra broke her thigh, shin, hip, pelvis, and thumb.

Stanovic was playing the role of a Gotham City bystander while filming was taking place in Glasgow in late 2021/early 2022 when a bike carrying a camera ploughed into her. After being rushed to hospital, the 35-year-old underwent emergency surgery.

"To hear the anaesthesiologist say 'we had our fingers crossed for you' really sends a chill down your spine," she tells the tabloid. "The surgeon told me it was one of the worst cases he has seen in his eight years at the hospital."

"They had a motorcycle with cameras on top of it that was filming. I started screaming to get the attention of the paramedics as I remembered seeing an ambulance on site in the previous days," Stanovic explained. "I lay there for almost an hour while they checked me and stabilised me. Unfortunately, I didn’t lose my consciousness. The memory will forever traumatise me."

Detailing her injuries, she added, "My femur, my tibia plateau, my pubic bone, a lot of non-displaced fractures in the pelvis, a broken thumb, and laceration to the head. They did the femur surgery after approximately 10 hours. It lasted more than five hours, I had five blood transfusions and I almost died."

Describing her recovery as "horrendous," it sounds like Stanovic still faces her fair share of struggles with the fallout and is now taking legal action against Warner Bros. We'd imagine she'll eventually receive a lot of money from the studio, though it could prove to be a lengthy legal battle depending on the circumstances of this accident.

Batgirl starred Leslie Grace and Brendan Fraser and was supposed to be released on the Max streaming service (then called HBO Max) before newly appointed Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav decided to scrap what he deemed to be an "unreleasable" movie.

A tax write-off, Batgirl is almost certainly never going to see the light of day despite the hopes of filmmakers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah.

I don't think the studio will contest the merit of this case. They'll lose and they know it.

Probably this will be settled.

@MadThanos - The only thing that comes to mind almost immediately (without knowing all the details of course) is how did a motorcycle hit her? Was she not standing in the right place? It just feels a little odd because you would think the director and everyone else on set would have told their extras where to be and where the bike was going to be. (Of course I realize accidents can always happen and it's totally possible the bike wasn't where it was supposed to be)

Something else that I'm sure will always be taken into account is whether the victim was sober at the time. If they drug tested after the incident and she failed then she wont get a damn penny out of them.

Without knowing the details it's very hard to say what will happen, but there are a few ways WB can try to weasel their way out of it. But if it's their fault then this woman deserves to be a multi-millionaire.

Tragically this sort of thing happens on movie sets (it "should" never happen but it still does) but that doesn't make them any less horrible or unacceptable.

I'm sorry and sad for her (I've watched the pictures), but sadly compassion can't do much to help her in regard to her condition.

I will not talk about the movie because that would be disrespectful to her, but all that is so sad.

Keep in mind, everyone, that this cast and crew that let this woman scream in pain for like an hour on the ground is the same that we've been defending by saying their movie should be released.

Even the cancelled DCEU movies continue to cost WBD money.

I'm sorry, I know this is a serious matter but I just can't... this is too funny. Not what happened to her obviously, but still... will this trainwreck ever end?

@ObserverIO - I hear you. This movie in particular continues to cost the studio more and more money. It's like it's a cursed production or something.

@ObserverIO - whatever costs they have to pay out I hope it exceeds the money they tried to save on this tax write off 😅😮‍💨

@CorndogBurglar - It's almost karmic, in a way.

@TheClunges - lol, that would be amazing.

It dawned on me recently that they kept the DCEU going because Aquaman made a billion dollars and in doing so they've ended up losing a billion dollars in DCEU flops.

I love DC, but... you can't make this shit up.

@ObserverIO - 😮‍💨😅 yep they really thought the flash and Aquaman were gonna do numbers....Aquaman still could but if it flops then lmao. WB deserves all the failure in the world for holding DC hostage.

Man, extra work isn't even well paid, they shouldnt have been anywhere near a rig like that. Hope they at the very least give her enough money to live comfortably without needing to work. She wont be able to even sit properly for years.

I hope she gets the last laugh and makes them pay for her recovery. Zaslav swims in a ridiculous amount of money either way and I will take joy in anything that involves him getting humbled for everything he's done since taking over.
