The Dark Knight will be turning ten years old this year. To celebrate, Showcase Cinemas will be screening the movie, this February 8 and 11, in commemoration of the most influential movies in the comic book movie genre, and even Hollywood movies as a whole.

During its theatre run in 2008, The Dark Knight amassed over a billion dollars at the box office and became a critical hit. It went on to be nominated for eight academy awards and won two of them.

The movie quickly gained cult-status and is widely remembered as the greatest comic book movie of all time - if not, greatest movie of all time, amongst movie buffs, casual moviegoers and comic book fans alike.

Unfortunately, Showcase Cinemas only operates in the north-eastern part of the states, specifically around the New York area, so most of us won't be able to see it. Fortunately, Warner Bros. is releasing a 4K UHD Christopher Nolan collection, which includes many of his hit films, including the Dark Knight trilogy - all in glorious 4K resolution.

That film changed the landscape for CBMs. Nothing less than a masterpiece.

Oh, and Aaron Eckhart's portrayal of Harvey Dent is criminally underrated!

@OedipusGrex - Agreed 100%.

I really feel like we lost some valuable Two-Face moments because he doesn't show up until pretty late in the film. I wish they could've included him in 'Rises' somehow.

Good shit. And while they’re at it how about rerelease superman the movie in theaters, since this year is its 40th anniversary. Also, before the new Halloween release, rerelease the original since it’s the 40th anniversary as well.
Classics baby, classics

@NotoriousWolf23 - damn right, it’s the 40th anniversary of the film and Superman’s 80th. They should throw a proper celebration for the granddaddy of the genre.
