With reactions ranging from elation to reserved optimism to textbook insanity, many fans have been quick to dismiss Affleck's acting ability as unfit to portray the brooding Batman. The doubt cast was not relieved by the announcement of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. However, with production beginning in Michigan early last month, it seems things are taking shape.

In what is hoped to be the first of many, details on what we can expect from Ben Affleck's Batman was recently let slip by his personal trainer and nutritionist, Rehan Jalali. Despite many fans' disappointment at the lack of any new information during last week's BATMAN 75th Anniversary Celebration, it appears new information has surfaced that may tide some fans over.

While Affleck has endured a great amount of flack and faced scrutiny for his love of all things round and cheese covered, his trainer, Rehan Jalali has brought us much needed piece of mind, as well as some answers detailing their plans for Affleck's physique.

About the subject, Jalali tweeted the following:

He also offers a minor update as to how Affleck is coming along:

Snyder’s sequel to Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill, reprising his role as Superman/Clark Kent, Ben Affleck as Batman/Bruce Wayne, and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince. The film also stars Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and Jeremy Irons as Alfred, and reunites “Man of Steel” stars Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane.

The new film is currently being written by Chris Terrio, from a screenplay by David S. Goyer. Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder are producing, with Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan, Wesley Coller, David S. Goyer and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers.

The film is set to open worldwide on May 6, 2016, and is based on Superman characters created by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster, Batman characters created by Bob Kane, and Wonder Woman created by William Moulton Marston, appearing in comic books published by DC Entertainment.

@soforizo

I was hoping for that too, but Mark Hughes has raised my hopes for the last time. Of course, I said that last time he did too.

@Joe

Haha, it really is, nail deleted my old one due to "his trainer has tweeted about affleck's physique before."
I mean I saw his point, but I'll take any new info at this point, as I'm sure a lot of us will.

Should have gone to the Gym Jones crew. Anyway, I hope Jalali delivers, so far he's been all talk and no bite. I trust Snyder and the Batfleck though, so I don't think they will overlook the physical aspect of Batman.

Nah man, that guy is all speculation, and horribly inaccurate speculation at that. I mean I can understand getting something wrong, but he gives super vague, general predictions and they end up not even being in the same ballpark as the truth.

Well he has to get to at least to what he had for the Town. I hope we can soon see Ben in the suit.

I think he'll get substantially bigger than that. he did say the real super hero look. His look in The Town was a really good base. it was big, but lean. He needs a bit more bulk on the arms, chest, and shoulders for bats, which his trainer seems to understand.

@WYLEEJAY

same boat man.

@soforizo
I agree about Affleck. He was shredded in the town, but I want a decent amount of bulk. Slightly more arkhamverse, like you said. Gadot's the only thing i'm really iffy about. They have a lot of oscar winners on the cast. I'm hoping gadot can bring it, both physically and in terms of character, but as of right now, that's a stretch. Here's hoping for a massive surprise.

I can see what people are concerned about.........with how skinny she is, but, Wonder Womans strength doesn't come from her muscles ya know? Not like She Hulk anyways. That being said, it still wont look right with someone that scrawny being a powerhouse like Superman. Im sure she will be toned up quite a bit, and the costume will add some heft to her. I just wish they would show us at least some concept art from the studio. Hell we dont even have an actual name for the film yet. Lol

@ Jedi

I think we'll see a more substantial character development for Supes this time around. We have, terrio, a writer who understands character arc on a fundamental level, and foyer, who's always been more of a story guy than a script guy.
I hope that now that we've set up Clark's origin with the appropriate amount of emotion and gravitas, we'll see a bit more joy out of him. but that's something I'm pretty sure we'll get.

Something that's way easier to [frick] up and ruin the film for a lot of people is Batman, because people tend to get far more upset when he deviates in the wrong direction. So that's why i'm so concerned with where they're heading with him. It's a good indicator of where they're headed with Supes, and WW, and the whole DCCU in general.

That's why I said he has to get to at least that. I would like a more fit Bruce. But he needs to be at least the same size as the Town.

The real question has Ben been taking mixed martial arts training. I want to see a Batman that finally knows martial arts.
