Just 19 more days to go, till the first Avenger finally hit the silver screen. Just in time are some snippets of new conceptual art for Joe Johnston's upcoming Captain America: The First Avengers.

In 1942, Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) is deemed physically unfit to enlist in the U.S. Army and fight the Nazis in World War II. Volunteering instead for Project: Rebirth, a secret military operation, he is physically transformed into a super-soldier dubbed Captain America. With sidekick Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), he fights the Red Skull (Hugo Weaving), Hitler's treacherous head of advanced weaponry, whose own plan for world domination involves a seemingly magical object known as the Tesseract.

















Captain America: The First Avenger will hit cinemas july 22nd, 2011.

They really did an exceptional job with Red Skull.
I'm so glad they included the wing logos on Cap's helmet.

(Wow these constant Green Lantern adverts auto-playing in the top right corner are really annoying now, at least make it an optional play. Oh, we all know why GL sucked now, one of the guys on the ad said Wikipedia was a major source of their info/research for the film)

Early days Bucky looks badass nothing like he did in the comics. This is one of those changes from comics to movies that actually make sense.

Love the concept art! It is amazing! They should use them for advertising! This will be the best CBM of the year, no question.

When Sebastian Stan (I think that's his name) was first cast as Bucky I thought he was gonna look stupid and look like a wuss, but after seeing pics of his de definitely does look very badass!! Oh Yeah! This movie is gonna be the shit!

This may very well be Marvel's TDK, I'm not gonna guarantee it but it certainly does have the potential.

Hello people

the more news coming out on Cap the more i get the feeling that some things havent been done right,
first of all i saw the trailer review the review was done with two guys hwo was on the captain america movie, some where one guy said some thing like he did not wandt Cap to be storming any beach because they didnt wandt to insault any grand dads hwo really did the beachstorming back in WW2, when i heard that i was like WHAT! i got the feeling that they tottaly missed way Cap was invented back in March 1941 it was to give our boys (our grandads) the sens that we could beat these nazis!(BOOST MORAL!!!) so why in hell would my grand dad ubject to seeing Cap storm normandy beach?? when you could arguably say that capt helpt our boys (our grandads) win the war! plus wolverine allready did it in his movie and i thought it was one of the best scene,s in the movie!!??

Second, Im not seeing enough nazis in the clips and trailers, i didnt see any swastika at all!! again the Reason this character even exist was to beat up the Nazis and to boost moral!! letting Cap have his own anymies seems like it wont be realistic and treu to the origin im allmost getting a disney kiddy feeling!!

Look i dont wandt start any worry's but im getting the feeling that we are beeing robbed of a movie that would have been way better than what we are getting right now!

The whole movie looks great to me! Even there is less nazis and more Hydra in the film!
Political Correctness sucks!... Sometimes!

Anyway again Joe Johnston shows that he is the King of visual effects!

@KingMarvel: For someone who isn't trying to 'worry' you're certainly making a good effort. You've posted the exact same comment in every Cap article.

There are Nazis in it. It's WWII - who do you think the war is being fought between? Hydra are a splinter hi-tech Nazi group. Red Skull IS a Nazi. The plot details we've learned have indicated that Cap is tasked with hunting down this particular Nazi threat, while I presume the rest of the allied armies (the British, French, Dutch, Canadians, Americans, et al) are STILL busy fighting... you guessed it - the Nazis. :)

Like I said to you in one of the other threads where you've repeated yourself, if you stop listening to the voices in your head for a minute and go beyond your preconceptions you might be able to look forward to the movie a bit more. Just a thought. :)
