It's looks surprisingly decent (but so did Iron Man 2 and that was crap) but I'm more interested in whether or not that's the costume we'll see in the movie...

Look good, I didn't expect that.
Maybe it'll be really awesome like the XMO Wolverine game was.

@Grif: This is what the creators of the game said:

"The game will have a setting that exists within the same world as the upcoming movie, though it won't simply attempt to mirror the events depicted in the film."

So, I guess something like IM2 game...

I am pretty sure I read an article that said Marvel was extremely disappointed with what Sega produced for Iron Man 2 and it was the reason Sega's Secret Level studio was closed. I think they will put more focus into and work harder on Thor and Captain America so they will at least be up to Wolverine standards. If not, I'd be willing to bet they would find a way to end their agreement with Sega and get someone else to do the Avengers game.

They should have learned from their mistakes. SEGA can't make a good game to save their lives. Give the game to someone else. My company of choice would be Naughty Dog who had a great hit with Uncharted 2 and they could make the Captain America game epic.

@SKOne .
They should just get Raven Software.
IMO They do a great job with Marvel, and Star Wars titles.

Seriously just give the rights to activision ,at least they made some good games with your characters. SEGA hasnt made one good marvel game since there contract.

Or at least Ubisoft or something

@patriautism -

I totally agree that Raven Software definitely is the best choice and has proven with the X-Men and Marvel Universe games that they know how superhero games should play. Unfortunately because Thor and Cap are already deep in production and are basically the last couple of games they have contracted with Sega, I expect them to just settle for what they get and then decide what they want to do with the Avengers.

I do expect Marvel to look at moving their games to Activision when their contract with Sega is up, but a lot could happen and I think Captain America has a good chance of at least being a fun four hour beat-em up based on the developer's (Sega Europe) history.

I'm glad I didn't waste my money on the IM2 video game. I have yet to hear anything good from these comments. Somewhat off-topic, but I would love to see a Fable like superhero game, if it doesn't exsist already.

I love how people think Sega is the actual studio developing it. They're publishing it people. Not making it, a different, employed studio is (not the guys who made the crap-tastic Iron-man games under super short time constraints by the way). Friggin' people don't know how anything works now days... Damn kids... Get off my hypothetical lawn.

Sega knows if they and their associates mess up Cap and Thor their going to loose the property. This game is going to be a lot better than people seem to think.

Further more what are we around year away from release? And it already looks like THAT? Its obviously been in development for sometime.

@Jarren Hunter

I think you're exactly right, Sega will work hard to keep their contract with Marvel and that is why they gave Captain America to their Yakuza developer, the only internal developer they have that has made anything decent in the past five years. Comic book games are going to do big business over the next five to ten years and they can't risk screwing up their relationship with Marvel.

As terrible as Iron Man 2 was, it still sold over a million copies, which just goes to show you how big the genre has gotten. Just imagine what sales for Thor and Captain America will be like if they are even decent.

Yeah, it does appear that Captain America has been in development for awhile which is exactly what gave Wolverine a chance to stand out over the other movie based games.

@spider1489

I am pretty sure this is just a transitional costume, with Mainstream Cap top and Ulitmate Cap pants. One of the extras posted an article earlier on that Cap's USO costume is basically the same as he had in his first appearance in Captain America Comics#1. I would guess this game takes place during the part of the movie before he gets the costume from the concept art, when he runs off to fight during his USO tour.

The great news is that the video game version might actually be able to show Cap's meeting with Namor and the Human Torch and maybe even a Logan cameo because games don't have quite the same cross licensing restrictions that movies do.

One main reason the Iron Man games sucked were because of the flight. the controls were terrible. i never played the full game, but thats what made me not want to. Captain America won't have that problem so I am sure it will be much better

Yeah, maybe like Wolverine, but since we saw platforming there, maybe will also feel like TMNT or even Prince of Persia!
