Carol Danvers' overall appearance underwent a few noticeable changes between her debut in Captain Marvel and return in Avengers: Endgame, but it looks like her costume was almost given a far more extensive revamp.

Marvel Studios Director of Visual Development Andy Park has shared one of his unused designs for Brie Larson's updated costume to Instagram, and there are a few significant differences to the outfit the character ultimately donned in the Infinity Saga finale. The blue and red color scheme is reversed, for one, and Danvers is also wearing her red sash from the comics around her neck.

CAPTAIN MARVEL 2 Officially In The Works With WANDAVISION Writer; Original Directors Will Not Return

It'll be interesting to see if Carol's outfit has undergone any further alterations when the she returns for Captain Marvel 2. The Marvel Studios sequel is currently scheduled for a 2022 release, with WandaVision writer Megan McDonnell on script duties. Directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck are not expected to return.

Hulk and Dum-E in Tony Stark's Lab

Post image

We'll start with a shot of Professor Hulk getting annoyed with Dum-E while working in Tony Stark's lab.

This is a deleted scene from Avengers: Endgame, and while we don't have all the details of what the sequence would have entailed, it's believed that some of Stark's earlier Iron Man armors would have been involved.

Hank and Janet Pym

A shot of the de-aged Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer from Ant-Man and The Wasp.

In this scene, we would have learned that The Pyms were more directly involved in the accident that resulted in Hannah John-Kamen's Ghost developing her unstable powers than the theatrical version of the movie would have us believe.

Ant-Man and The Wasp V1

A look at the pair in their costumes as the original Ant-Man and The Wasp.

"Smart Hulk" In Infinity War

Post image

As we know, Professor Hulk was originally going to make his debut in Infinity War during the battle with Cull Obsidian, and this pre-VFX shot shows Mark Ruffalo interacting with Scarlett Johansson.

In the scene, Black Widow would have attempted to clam Hulk down with a lullaby before realizing that the Green Goliath and Bruce Banner had merged into one.

Hawkeye

Post image

Although he didn't wind up appearing in the theatrical release of the movie, Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye was originally supposed to feature in Infinity War.

This is an unfinished test-shot of Barton protecting Vision from some Outriders.

Bad Zemo

Post image

Although Helmut Zemo went to great lengths to get his hands on the Hydra code diary in Captain America: Civil War, the character was originally going to commit a far more heinous act to acquire the book.

Worse Zemo

We would have caught up with Zemo at a black market auction for illegal weapons, where he would have used a gas to kill everyone in attendance before stealing his prize.

Odin on Earth

Post image

We don't have many details on this deleted scene, but it seems there was going to be a sequence involving Odin (Anthony Hopkins) paying a visit to his son (Chris Hemsworth) in Thor: The Dark World.

Captain Marvel Stand-In

Post image

It's been well documented that Joss Whedon wanted to introduce Captain Marvel in Avengers: Age of Ultron before Kevin Feige nixed the idea, but a scene featuring a stand-in for the character was filmed, and we have our first look at the mysterious actress here.

I like it. Looks more like her first Ms. Marvel version...without the exposed legs of course

I still can't believe they delivered on the mohawk mask and it actually worked.

I wonder what look they'll go with for the sequel. (Maybe something Binary-inspired?)

I really like Brie Larson in most things I’ve seen her in and I was psyched for her solo movie. Man it was dull though. I don’t read the comics but the character and film just had NO flavour. Except for the slight tinges of 90s vibes. Another thing is her costume sucks. It’s got nothing distinct about it to make her unique and iconic to new audiences. A bunch of red and blue leather mess. A billion other heroes have that colour scheme and have more unique sight points to make them stand out. Superman’s S, spiderman’s eyes and web pattern, wonder womans distinct armoured warrior thing. If youre gonna go red and blue like everyone else, throw in something more interesting than a 10 pointed star or whTever it is.

I gotta say, the Ms Marvel costume would have been instantly iconic. All black with a big yellow lightning bolt. Simple, distinguishable. And that red sash, which could be iconic. Cover the legs if that’s what you gotta do.

The mohawk is great, unique. Couldve made her much more interesting if they’d leant into it and made it her full time costume from the start. [frick], make her a 90s punk (I dont give a shit if its not in the comics). I’m more interested in the sound of her already.

@connorblaze - I love the Cockrum vibe, but I've never liked Carol with a domino mask. I think there may be potential to do a Andy-Park-ized version of that costume (bare shoulder, open back, but with pants), but that eight-pointed star is definitely the symbol they're going to stick with.

And the lightning bolt does read a little Flash/Captain Sharzvel to me, while the star suggests military-ness. It's was definitely the right costume to debut her in, but future appearances offer opportunities to play around (and sell new toys).

I mean: Captain Marvel has been in two movies so far, and had four different costumes. They're not shy about mixing it up.

I don't care for short-hair Carol. Me want long-hair Carol.

I like the scarf but why not just add the hip sash?
