THE MARVELS Stills Put The Spotlight On The CAPTAIN MARVEL Sequel's Villain, Ms. Marvel, And More

Marvel Studios has released the first official stills from The Marvels, showcasing a number of key characters and moments from the trailer. Take a closer look at the sequel's villain and more right here!

Captain Marvel was a $1 billion hit back in 2019, with Brie Larson's Carol Danvers later appearing (briefly) in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame

Her appearances in those movies were shot before that solo outing, hence why the Russo Brothers didn't do as much with the hero as they probably wanted! Since then, the Captain has made a cameo appearance in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, but The Marvels will finally put Carol back in the spotlight.

Following today's trailer debut, we now have a new gallery of stills from the highly anticipated sequel.

There aren't too many major reveals to be found here, though a closer look at Zawe Ashton's Kree villain is definitely appreciated. Yes, that's a hammer similar to the one once wielded by Ronan the Accuser and she does indeed appear to be wearing a bangle identical to Ms. Marvel's.

Elsewhere, we get a closer look at Carol, Kamala Khan, Monica Rambeau, and Goose.

Check out these new stills from The Marvels below.

In The Marvels, Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe.

When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau.

Together, this unlikely trio must team up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as "The Marvels."

The movie stars Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, Iman Vellani, Samuel L. Jackson, Zawe Ashton and Park Seo-joon.

Nia DaCosta directs, and Kevin Feige is the producer. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Mary Livanos and Matthew Jenkins serve as executive producers. The screenplay is by Megan McDonnell, Nia DaCosta, Elissa Karasik and Zeb Wells.

The Marvels arrives in theaters on November 10.

OT: First off anyone who thinks 474mil on Quantumania isn't enough is desperately wanting to believe the Marvel is failing narrative. Completely illogical. During peak theater attendance before covid the Antman franchise maxed out at 625mil. 474mil at this point is exactly where Marvel figured this film would be. Only desperate idiots would say otherwise..

Lmao i was right once again. Quantumania was hit. Grossing between 70-100mil.

Marvel spent only 150mil on production budget. IT'S A FACT😂😂

Marvel didn't want to spend the money. Making it under their new UK production company Pym Productions III. They knew the UK was offering tax incentuves for films made entierly in the UK earning them a 40mil dollar tax rebate for filming their. PPIII reportedly spent 190mil out of their pocket. Knowing the tax rebate would cover additional cost totaling the production budget to 150mil.

Double that, add advertising AM:Q only needed 380mil to break even. It sits at 474mil ww atm.

Told you guys Marvel wasn't going to spend the money on an Antman movie after while covid has the theaters down.

Besides all that even at 200mil AM still wouldn't have failed. 474 covered ×2 budget and advertising.

@DCasAhobby - You must not realize that studios don't get 100% of box office money. And you don't know that not all the money spent is in the official budget. Perks to stars, reshoots & etc.

Not only did Ant-Man 3 flop, if a studio is counting on a certain amount of profits & don't get it, they consider it a fail. That is why Disney was very unhappy to see Star Wars 8 & 9 do much less than Star Wars 7. To them, that is money lost.

Ant-Man 2 made $622 million. So Disney had to see $622 million as near guaranteed. But Ant-Man 3 only made $474 million.

Another failure was the movie did nothing to bring interest to Kang. A matter made even worse when Jonathan Majors was outed as a serial abuser of women.

Disney's MCU joyride has come to a crashing halt. They have to lower expectations. The Marvels will be lucky to hit $500 million unless it's a damn entertaining movie.

@DCasAhobby - ...dude, at 200 mil it needed 500 mil to break even. It's a known rule of thumb that the marketing costs about as much as the budget. And theaters are also taking a cut from the ticket sales. So 2.5x budget is the break even point (aka where the movie doesn't make money, but also doesn't lose money).

Ant man lost 25 mil. That's a fact. Get over yourself.

OK, I know I’m bad at math, but “Quantumania grossed between 70-100 million dollars, Marvel only spent 150 million dollars on it” doesn’t seem to add up. 150 > 70-100.

@DCasAhobby - @Origame

Origame may be off a bit in a few of the details but his conclusion is spot on and that's with taking the $40m tax break into account and ignoring, participation, interest, and overhead.

Using industry standards for how ticket revenue is divided AM&TW-Q would have needed at least $100m just to cover production and marketing. To cover participation, interest, and overhead would call for at least that much as well.

TL:DR This movie lost money.

@DCasAhobby - Not sure where you get DC fanboy. I'm not. What I am is an accountant (Master's), and retired CPA who has followed this topic consistently for the last 11 years. What you are is up for debate; 1) a simple-minded out of date apologist, 2) a troll, or 3) Josh Wilding's evil twin. But that said you're not a shill since anyone doing that sort of perversion would have been better coached.

The CW shows have had better trailers. Do they even realize that they must work to give us a reason to want to see their movies? Marvel had better hope that the movie is better than the trailer makes it seem.
