COMICS: It Looks Like Reverse-Flash Will Be Central To DC's Big WATCHMEN Mystery

The Reverse-Flash's return in The New 52 proved to be a tad underwhelming, but based on this cover for The Flash #21, he's about to make his presence felt in DC Rebirth in a very big way...

We'll get some answers about the DC Universe's big Watchmen mystery in "The Button" this April, and now a cover reveal for The Flash #21 adds Eobard Thawne to the mix. The Reverse-Flash obviously played a key role in Flashpoint (the event which led to the creation of The New 52), so that could explain his presence here, and with any luck, Thawne will be returned to his far more formidable self.

It's thought that Geoff Johns will return to DC Comics later this year to pen some sort of big Watchmen event which will finally reveal what
Dr. Manhattan's role in the creation of this world is. That's going to be a lot of fun to see play out, and you can share your theories on this cover in the comments section down below. Here's the solicitation text which also sheds some light on what's to come in this tale:

"THE BUTTON" part two! The cataclysmic events of DC UNIVERSE: REBIRTH #1 continue here! The Dark Knight and The Fastest Man Alive, the two greatest detectives on any world, unite to explore the mystery behind a certain blood-stained smiley button embedded in the Batcave wall. What starts as a simple investigation turns deadly when the secrets of the button prove irresistible to an unwelcome third party—and it’s not who anyone suspects! It’s a mystery woven through time, and the ticking clock starts here!

Can we please call him Professor Zoom? Reverse-Flash is such a stupid name, I mean Professor Zoom is silly too. But calling him Reverse-Flash makes me think of a slow, fat, black woman, who's dead.

I still hate that they're doing this. Watchmen is a critique on the superhero genre.
