Darren Aronofsky and Frank Miller Batman: Year One

This isn't so much an article as it wanting the peoples opinions. I just finished reading the Darren Aronofsky and Frank Miller script for the canceled film, Batman: Year One. Now I know this script completely went away from the Batman Mythology, but I thought it was a great way to bring the character to light in a brand new way. The First thing that jumped out at me about the script that truly loved was that the Bat-Man was in fact a man. In real life no child would watch there parents die and not have a crisis over the ordeal (having said that I know dressing up as a Bat is still having a break down), but still he was on medication and had terrible social skills. Bruce Wayne grew up in the worst part of the city out of a car garage owned by little Al (the African/American counter part to Alfred Pennyworth) in one of the worst places for a man with a breakdown to be. I really liked this because it should a different MORE realistic take on Bruce Wayne. I really loved the scenes where he explains how is entering a bar and takes on eight different men at once. Now the thing that caught me about this was that he knew he couldn't take all these men (though he was cracking down on a good portion of them) he never the less knew he was out matched, so he relied on his wits and street smarts to bale him out with some chemicals and a lighter. Another thing that I loved was how Frank and Darren broke down Bat-Man's injuries. As the story would progress you could see in your mind all the damages Bruce had to his body. This was a really good way of going about the character development because that is actually how Bruce would be on the street, trained or not. Finally I loved the costume development made up throughout the story. The beginning paints a picture of young Bruce Wayne struggling to find his identity in a world of crime fighting. As the story goes on he goes from becoming the hooded vigilante to being the feared Bat-man. Over all I give this story a 5 out of 5 because it was fresh, dark as hell, truly realistic, and chilling to the bone. I would love to see this adapted into a comic book and my high hopes are to see it made into a movie one day. Let me know what you guys think.
