Lego Batman Movie Flopped: Has DC Over extended Batman?

Lego Batman Movie world wide totals have finally come in. Needless to say it's far less profitable then the majority thought it would be. Batman Fatigue?

Total Lifetime Grosses.

Domestic: $170,972,203 58.4%
+ Foreign: $121,600,000 41.6%
= Worldwide: $292,572,203

Wooooooooooooo!! What happened?! These cgi animated kids shows typically make bank. I had this show predicted to do 750-800mil B.O. At the least 500mil. Even the regular Lego Movie got just shy of 500mil. I bet the Lego Movie producers are pissed they choose to go with Batman because a regular lego movie sequel would have gotten close to 600mil. I think DC could have finally over extended Batman. This is probably the lowest grossing major cgi kids release in the last 10 years.

When doing movie figures typically you times two the budget add adv. budget and add about another 70mil for additional cost. Weird I know but that's how it's done. So TLBM had a budget of 80mil. times 2 is 160mil. Add the 70mil avd. budget that's 230mil. Plus another 70 for additional cost and that's 300mil to break even. I'm willing to bet the break even point is even a little higher due to so much extra cost we don't understand but shows when final profits are tallied for movies. Example:

Movie profits according to Deadline and Variety:

Iron Man 3 - $391.8M (2013)

Avengers Age of Ultron - $382.3M (2015)

Guardians of the Galaxy - $204.2M (2014)

Captain America: The Winter Soldier - $166.2M (2014)

Thor The Dark World - $139.4M (2013)

Ant-Man - $103.9M (2015)

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - $81.31M (2014)

X-Men Days of Future Past - $77.4M (2014)

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 - $70.4M (2014)

Man of Steel - $42.7M (2013)

If you notice all those cbms made waaaaaaaay less than they should when only subtracting budget cost. Take MoS for example. It had a budget of 225mil. It grossed 668mil. subtract the budget and it shows a profit of 443mil. But we know that's not what the end result was for that movie. More like 42mil. So when applying that same logic to the TLBM...it won't even break even.

TLBM clearly flopped. Has DC finally over extended Batman? And could this be a foreshadowing of things to come for later 2017 DC releases? Only time will tell. But one things for sure this is another huge blackeye to the current DC filmverse. A sequel is outta the question.
