Well, perhaps controversially for some, Heath Ledger's take on the Joker in The Dark Knight is the winner with 953 Votes (31.69%). I'm sure we will see plenty of "Yeah, people only voted for him because he died" but they didn't, they voted because he was excellent in the role. Now he wouldn't have been my first pick. That went to Christopher Reeve as Superman and he comes in second with 633 Votes (21.05%) and in third place was ol gravelly voice himself, Christian Bale as Batman with 601 Votes (19.99%).

Here are the results in full..

I'm afraid I couldn't fit Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox on the screen cap! He had 21 Votes (0.70%). You might have noticed Peter Sarsgaard and Kim Basinger came in last with only 3 and 2 votes respectively. I will honor that with a LMAO since I hated both of their performances.

Mrnofear, um, that The Killing Joke version is actually the one Ledger was most like. The multiple choice past thing? Trying to corrupt just to prove that anyone is capable of becoming like he is? (Gordon in Killing Joke, Dent in TDK), the dilaog? The "two sides of the same coin" thing with Batman?

@MRNOFEAR

The Joker is the most re-invented character in comic history. He has gone from one extreme to the other. You're point is invalid.

Although I will say for me the winner should have been Gary Oldman. But Ledger's Joker is nothing if not iconic.

@RyanLantern77, eff yeah. Leon is one of my favorite movies of all time, Oldman is flat out amazing in it. And yes, I voted for him as Jim Gordon.

I'm sorry, but Gary Oldman's portrayal as Jim Gordon is closer to the comics than Ledger's as Joker. Christopher Reeve wins this one guys.

He was represented HORRIBLY. The acting was great but he was NOTHING like the character. I knew that this would be the choice, but that's only because too many people don't think into the question.

Reeves for me. Look @ the artwork in Superman Secert Origins. They drew Superman off of Reeves. He will always be the best Superman, and not because he was the first. As far as Heath as the Joker..he was a mix of different incarnations of the Joker.
StephenJ
StephenJ - 8/18/2011, 6:39 PM
wow I loved his portrayal of the character, but I don't think he should have won. He was definitely in my top 5 reason of loving TDK, But Aaron Eckhart is so underrated in that movie for Harvey Dent/Two-Face

I'm tired of Reeve..... just sayin and

Gordon is another great portrayal in the Nolan movies..

@Marvel72

Do you hate TDK, Heath Ledgers Portrayal as the Joker, or Nolan all together.. What is it that you hate so much about this series
TheOverlord
TheOverlord - 8/18/2011, 6:45 PM
1940s cartoons of Superman were the best cinematic representation of any DC character ever. Oldman as Gordon #1 live action. Keaton was actually better than Bale.
brewtownpsych
brewtownpsych - 8/18/2011, 6:48 PM
people who don't like heath ledger's performance are basing it on how different he was from the comics ... personally, that doesn't matter to me, what a great "interpretation" it was, whether spot-on to the comics or not. keeping it slavishly close to the comics would have been boring if not ridiculous. this realistic, chaotic and creepy version was unreal. still, reeves for the win. and don't forget that terence stamp guy as general zod -- he is general zod. not sure how the new guy will ever top that.
bfprimetime
bfprimetime - 8/18/2011, 6:53 PM
I'm sorry but Jacks version of the Joker showed no acting skills. It was just him with Joker makeup. Heath was unrecognizable as the Joker, acting at its finest. Please don't ever compare the two.
Darkknight23
Darkknight23 - 8/18/2011, 6:54 PM
Prisoners of the moment, nobody beats Reeves' Superman. Oh and as a side note, Batman fans owe a debt to Michael Keaton. Thanks for delivering Bats from the cheesiness on the 60's. his performance is grossly underrated.

I know it was only on TV, but why was Lynda Carter not in the poll? She was absolutely perfect as Wonder Woman.
twiztidEssex
twiztidEssex - 8/18/2011, 7:38 PM
Wow A WHOLE lot of poser dark knight fans that know little about Joker on this poll, Beyond Killing Joke, Ledgers performance was more Norman Bates than anything. Reeves..No debate.

@ THABATMAN

no i don't hate the dark knight i think its a good movie but not as great some like to believe it is.

things that i don't like about the dark knight

-the suit-too much armor, has blades that shoot out of gloves, very hard too move about in it effects the fight scenes, can't really see the bat emblem like you can on keatons suit.

-bale & that stupid throat cancer voice-it annoys me but it get to the point where i'm actually laughing at it because it sounds so stupid.

-batman imposters that really bothers me i think it sucks.

-batman actually leaving gotham - doesn't he go to china or somewhere like that, didn't seem right seeing batman outside gotham.different if it was say a justice league movie where his with other heroes.

-heath ledger as the joker - he was good in the role but he mumbled his way through the film & sorry his performance was not oscar worthy.we all know why he really got oscar.

-nolan can't direct a fight scene.

-batman is meant to know what 140 martial arts or something like that, but gets taken out by some dogs.

-falling 80 storeys hit a roof of a car with another person & not a single scratch.....nolan & realism again.

-general public vs arkham immates on the ships, these prisoners are nasty bastards not one of them thought about trying to get the remote & blowing the ship to bits, why would they care they're not gonna get out on good behaviour they're probably lifers.

i think thats about it the dark knight 3/5

also i like a couple of nolan films memento & inception are better than the dark knight.

Christian Bale as batman????? wow you could tell thats not biased at all. (Sarcastic)
PurpleHaze92
PurpleHaze92 - 8/18/2011, 7:51 PM
If anything, Christian Bale as batman has been twisted and warped in all the wrong ways just like any other Nolan character. Thats why i have no hope for DK3 or Man of steel. The whole point is that its a comic book, thats why they and movies were created. To escape this realistic bullshit ass world. What nolan has done is completely blasphemous, and anyone who condones his changes or embraces them should be [frick]ing ashamed of calling themselves a comicbook fan. And if you disagree, that just shows you how right i am....
thatcoldblackcloud
thatcoldblackcloud - 8/18/2011, 7:52 PM
Heath as Joker? Uh, I dunno, I mean his interpretation of the joker was terrifyingly brilliant, but the comics verion is nowhere near as twisted, dark abd creepy as Ledger's.

PurpleHaze92
PurpleHaze92 - 8/18/2011, 7:55 PM
i meant Nolan's batman, not Christian as batman...
