In the newest installment of The Blackest Night (5 of 8) event of the DC Universe, we finally see the much anticipated Black Lantern Batman. Although we see him fully, we are left with much more questions then answers. Why is he so special and why does he SPOILERS have the ability to instantly kill people and convert them to Black Lanterns? SPOILERS. We also don't know why as soon as he appears Nekron, the menace behind Black Hand's actions converts Batman back to a skull after he SPOILERS kills everyone imaginable SPOLIERS

oh no man, i don't want to be mistaken. i think it would be a good way to end it! a white ring that gives life, rather than takes it. kind of like the opposite of the black ring.

and i agree, green lantern has been amazing!! i don't read DC really, but GL is awesome! and yeah, civil war was one of the best stories in recent years, but this is definately giving it a run for its money :)

Wait i read Final Crisis and ys batman died but from what was pretty much told was that his essence/ soul was transported to another body ... So the Batman in this seris is not even bruce it is some creature maybe the black lantern itself manifested in his body ...

batman's soul is still alive, but so is ANYONE that dies. his body is dead, and that is what the black lantern is controlling.

yeah, i think i like your idea better, you don't want someone running around with the power to resurrect dead people at will. i read that this story is supposed to help put a stop (or at least slow down) the revolving door of death, but that would only make it worse, lol.

I don't know if I'm the only one that noticed that Nekron called Black Lantern Batman "Bruce Wayne", and not simply Bruce Wayne. So if thats not Bruce's body, who the hells bodyis it?

I loved this series so far and Geoff Johns has done a great job with the story so far. Every superhero must have'd shit them selves after seeing a "Bruce Wayne" as a Black Lantern. I don't believe thats the same Bruce Wayne that died in Final Crisis, because if those who read the story Bruce didn't die, he was sent back in time. I think the dead Bruce Wayne corps that is seen since Final Crisis, is in fact a Bruce Wayne from one of the other 51 alternate DCU. But still I thught it awesome to see the real Batman again even if its a black lantern. lol
