While speaking to Total Film about his upcoming film, Hercules, Dwayne Johnson was asked about what DC character he'd most like to play. While he first tried to dodge the question, he ended dropping a HUGE hint about which character he has been meeting DC about and also revealed that there will be an announcement soon (hello, Comic Con). The most recent rumour was that he was up for the role of Darkseid but looks like his role will be that of a hero. Check it out!

I'd love to see him play Black Adam but I don't think he can pull off the accent. If he played Shazam though, I think he can pull that one off because of his charisma.

He ended the interview with....."JUST SAY THE WORD". We know he's gonna gonna be slightly comedic in the role. It's definitely Shazam!!!,!

I thought The Rock would be playing John Stewart, but it sounds like he is actually playing Shazam.

Personally, I would rather seem him play a hero than a villain. That's just me though.

Yeah, he didn't say he was a hero though so there's still a sliver of hope for him playing Black Adam. I think he has the chops to pull off a villain.

This guy should be Shazam.

Technically Black Adam "says the word" too, but I'd be stoked either way.

He has qualities for both.

When he talks about his own strengths on screen, he could be referring to a certain charm/goofiness, which would be perfect for Shazam, or he could be referring to a certain quiet hardcore badass quality, which would be perfect for Black Adam.

Personally, I think Dwayne Johnson would be a great Shazam.

Now, he's campaigned to play Black Adam in the past few years….. what if he played both roles? It would really give him a chance to extend his acting range by being hero and villain.

I haven't seen all his films, but I don't think I've ever seen him play a bad guy. His previous roles, his "baggage" all seem to point a likeable tough guy who has a good rapport with kids. Shazam it is then.
