SPOILERS: The Final Words Of A Fan-Favorite Hero May Change BATMAN's Status Quo Forever

In Batman #22, Batman and The Flash ended up in the Flashpoint timeline despite the fact it's no longer supposed to exist. We later learned that someone or something was holding it together, but they quickly changed their mind and an anti-matter wave ended up wiping it from existence.

Before that happened, though, Bruce Wayne was finally given the chance to spend some time with his father Thomas, the Batman from the Flashpoint Universe. Surprisingly, just as Bruce and Barry are about to make their escape, Thomas pleads with the Caped Crusader to give up this life and find happiness, something which was inspired by him learning about the existence of Damien Wayne.

Now that he's essentially been absolved of his guilt by his own father, will Batman listen and ditch the cape and cowl? That remains to be seen, but this could shake up his world in a big way now.

It looks like
Dr. Manhattan could finally appear in the final part of this crossover, so stay tuned...

@Doomsday8888 - My first thought when I read this. That movie has so many powerful scenes.

Damn dude. His parents are the whole reason why he does what he does. He has to hang up the cowl after this. Unless he thinks that Batman means more than just avenging his parents now.

I'm still not sure he's the real Batman anyway. After the battle with Joker, he returned younger, missing his scars, and with amnesia. Considering that Bruce had just assumed possession of Lex's cloning facility, I've been presuming that this Batman could have been a clone for the past year. Maybe the original is holed up somewhere, still paralyzed from the cave-in.
