Doctor Strange SUCKS Not the best MCU movie or movie in general

Yes i said it ! The movie is a disaster and i could care less if you are a MCU, DCEU, FXMU fan or what ever. We need Marvel to start making different, not funny!

The big success Marvel just released their latest instalments Doctor Strange, critics are praising the movie for it’s  VFX and acting and i am standing here and i am calling it bullsh*t.

I have no clue what was so great about this movie, Ant-Man was better, Iron Man 2 & 3 are far better than this.

All I know is that if this movie got the reviews it deserved and not being reviewed by wave riders and cowards, it would certanly never pass a 48 % score on Rotten Tomatoes.

What is wrong with people these days, they like stuff so they can feel a part of some cool group or be accepted ?
Here is what was completely bugging about this movie.

Marvel thinks that when something in their universe works, it can be transferred to basically any property. Since Iron Man has been the franchise to close on a trilogy first, they have been looking for ways to put him center stage in every movie. We had him in Captain America Civil War (which supposedly I heard is a solo movie for Captain America and not an Avengers movie), we had him cameo in The Incredible Hulk, they had him be a main character in both Avengers 1 and 2, and he is to cameo in Spiderman Homecoming as well.

So that is 8 movies basically, Marvel realizes they need to think ahead and find an actor as captivating as Robert Downey JR in a major role with a solo movie franchise option.

Chris Evans can’t be that guy, his character is too serious and a bit of a boy scout, he can’t bring the humor and the charisma, neither can Thor, neither can War Machine, neither can Falcon, neither can Vision or any of the two female main characters currently in the line up. Ant-Man was sort of an attempt, but in a world where most Marvel movies after The Avengers make a certain amount of money, Ant-Man proved people might not be all the way “turnt” for Paul Rudd. Spiderman when he comes in the MCU would be in the hands of a 20+ actor, who is a long way from proving himself as a lead of a 14+ movie franchise.

I wouldn’t bet either on Black Panther as a main franchise leader, so we are left with Mister Doctor (that is supposed to be funny for some reason). Here is how Kevin Feige thinks probably, Benedict Cumberbatch is a captivating actor, we have a very weird character dealing with magic, the nerds will come, but how do we get the GA*, well we hire a great actor. He has done a lot of roles before that require sarcasm and being witty in a similar fashion to RDJR’s Tony Stark. The media loves him, and he has been nominated all over for great movies and different roles that require serious skill.

The supporting cast is all top notch actors that have been doing this for so long, and still Doctor Strange couldn’t break my top 10 MCU movies list, from a far perspective now I think I enjoyed Ant-Man more, which was one of my worse ones before that.
The only guy that can now take over RDJR leading franchise role for me is Chris Pratt, but for some reason GOTG are in the same universe but appear (until AIW at least) mostly in their own movies and do not connect as much with the main line. I am not sure, but i may like even Thor 2 and Iron Man 3 more than this one, I may actually do.

This movie fails on every level as a movie on its own.

People are like, wow the visual VFX are amazing! Yeah, really??

The scenes with him going through dimensions looked like a TV show about someone tripping on mushrooms and weed, to be honest it wasn’t good at all. I guess this is irrelevant if you are a huge Ditko fan, and that is right up your alley, in that case I do not blame you, geek on.

Doc. Strange – the surgeon, he is an asshole, he has money and fame within the profession he choose. Now this isn’t Benedict’s fault but mixing the ego centric asshole, with someone who is whistling carelessly while performing operation, is something that came from the producers and wasn't well though out. Let’s make him cool and find a way to put a joke here to show how skillful he is, but it just looks stupid in some moments in the movie and it's the sort of thing you now expect from Marvel, on every level except Netflix.

Then after he had his hands damaged, with nails all over, trying to cope with the fact that he tried everything to recover them, he goes into a very vicious verbal fight with Rachel McAdams’s character (I will call her disposable female love interest #14), in that moment Benedict starts acting maybe 12 levels above any previous scene and does it well.  It doesn’t really sound like the guy we saw in the first 20 minutes of the movie. I am not saying he wasn’t an asshole before, it’s just stupid character motivation and bad script and something a soap opera would use later on to redeem a character.

The training – so based on a line by Rachel McAdam’s character we realize that he was in training for some years (can’t remember how many as I simply don’t care and will not be revisiting this movie ever), in the movie the director shot the entire process in such a way that you are left with the impression that weeks have passed and he is nowhere near learning the most important thing and he hasn't.

The segment is mostly used for some easy humor, we hear a bunch of jokes about pop culture, not really funny. People say it was better than Batman Begins since they like to compare it based on the story. In no way is the training of Bruce Wayne, who was living in those lands for years, << stealing food to survive, studying criminals, being in prison, being in fights, having to find the League of shadows, having to train with them, to prove himself worthy to them, being tested by them, rebelling against them and escaping them >>  - comparable to the parody that was Strange’s training period.

In one moment he can’t do anything, then 2 minutes later he gets in a fight with villains who had years of practice and are much more skillful and wins??? What the hell is going on??  And the f**ing cape which is mostly used to be a cheap one liner plot device and humor source, then every time Strange is about to get it, the cape saves him. Like why would I be afraid for his life from now on, where are the stakes?? There is no stakes ever in the latest Marvel movies.

The visual FX that you are all praising are super flashy and a total mess, you get bombarded with them in the 2nd act and the 3rd act, bending buildings and while all this is happening we have scenes with Strange and Mordo running like they used to do in those Benny Hill movies, if they put the same music I find no difference at all.

To all the freaks that claim this is better than Inception, the FX used by Nolan were much more practical, better looking, not generic, weren’t used to make our eyes hurt and have strict rules within the world he built, unlike this mess of a bending city crap, the scenes in the trailer look good but in the context of the movie they just hurt my eyes and have plot holes as huge as Strange's ego.

The ghost fight in the hospital is probably one of the worse things I have seen in my life, the way that they represent ghosts or astral projections is closer to Casper animated movie, rather a big budget movie that costs 165 Million to make. It was there to give Rachel McAdams character some purpose beyond looking good, and while she saves the body we have Casper kicking ass with Wendy ??

The villains, so let me understand this real quick, Kaecilius (or as I will call him generic villain # 9) is someone that was mentored by The Ancient One ( a wise beyond her years mentor), that found some alternative spells that could bring him more power and all the usual bad guy stuff, and formed a little villain group with a few more students knowing what we were told about the Dark Dimension (what a name).

So this tells me that the wise Ancient One is picking those students up very carelessly and is not a very good recruiter in my book at least. She is greatly played by Tilda Swinton, but badly written by Scott D., preaching one thing, doing something opposite, being wise doesn't scream in those training scenes, a very unpolished product for me personally in terms of script.

The time stone and the 3rd act, so for those of you who are eagerly waiting for Thanos the big bad cosmic CGI villain aka The Purple Smile, you can relax now he will probably be a big letdown just as Dormammu. This was the scene in which i felt ashamed of being in the theater and having to explain to my friend why i made him pay 15 bucks for this movie, the infinity loop scene with him was probably supposed to be clever, but it mainly looked stupid. I now have 0 interest for this villain like at all, he was easily defeated in his own dimension by a rookie sorcerer and i am supposed to be shaking in my boots for him in part 2 or 3 ? Not a chance.
The time stone makes me wonder, what consequences can we ever expect ever again in the MCU, o don’t tell me Thanos will steal it and it will be all good, yeah that is how Kevin Feige thinks he can play the kids untill 2025 or 2030. I am done with Marvel for good, they can sell me a comic book or an animated show, but they can count on someone else to pay them 15 bucks for mediocre crap that is afraid to accept that this movie should have been darker, eddgier and let the director do what he does best. No more Benny Hill for me.

I would rate this movie 1 out of 5 if i was a critic, for anyone that rated this 5/5 I would interestingly have a lengthy discussion with you and take your critic credentials and put them to the test with a lie detector. I think you are trying to stay safe and ride this positive wave of Marvel fame and glory days and just stay in your lane of ass kissing. You are definitely not journalist and have 0 idea what a good movie is.

You go at other properties with such low ratings for specific aspects of the movie and then you celebrate them in other movies, what is this? I have seen horrible crap movies with scores over 90 % on Rotten Tomatoes and briliant movies with 50 %, Ghostbusters 2016 should be banned with a law, not celebrated you pretencious fake asshol*s.

Why is everyone pretending like Warner’s and Fox are the only ones making bad movies here and there ?

I mean seriously we acknowledge that Disney is the first company to successfully connect two (or more) separate properties within the same universe and their award was in the form of 1.5 Billion box office for The Avengers. Let’s stop encouraging them every time they go and take a dump on our front porch and gush over a [frick]ing 20 second teaser scene for the next crappy solo movie that comes out in 6 months or less.

I say either start making them better or stop making them at all. I can easily live with GOTG and the ocassional Avengers or Iron Man properties.
