"After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he’s become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was. Most particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his former girlfriend, Laurel Lance. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow – a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory. By day, Oliver plays the role of a wealthy, carefree and careless philanderer he used to be – flanked by his devoted chauffeur/bodyguard, John Diggle – while carefully concealing the secret identity he turns to under cover of darkness. However, Laurel’s father, Detective Quentin Lance, is determined to arrest the vigilante operating in his city. Meanwhile, Oliver’s own mother, Moira, knows much more about the deadly shipwreck than she has let on – and is more ruthless than he could ever imagine."

I say go for Olicity!
This show is clearly taking a different route on many things. Why completely stop though? No reason Olicity can't find happiness just because the comics dictate Black Canary is Dinah Lance and that they HAVE to end up together. Besides, it's apparent that Oliver and Felicity are better off than Oliver and Laurel, who's just an extremely clingy drama queen.

Hope the time gap isn't weird. But we'll see.

I loved Season 1 hope they do just as good with Season 2!

@superotherside, it's not technically a time gap, they're letting the show unfold in real time. Like he said, when the show went on winter hiatus for 6 weeks after episode 9, 6 weeks had also passed in the show when episode 10 aired. The season finale aired May 15 and will return October 9. That's 5 months. So 5 months will have passed on the show.

They've actually been very good about sticking to that. If you rewatch the season, every time they mention how much time has passed since Oliver has returned in the present or how much time has passed since he arrived on the island in the past, it's almost exactly the amount of time that has passed since the first episode aired.

Wow, some real authentic (not BS rumor) DC news.

I wanted to try this show, but there's just something about the WB network and Smallville that makes me want to vomit in my mouth whenever I just think about it.

I'm not sure what's sadder. No DC/WB movie news or how sad their fans look trying to downplay it or play up the ridiculous rumors. It… Makes… Me… Sad (smirking)
