FREE GUY Director Shawn Levy Hopes To Reunite Ryan Reynolds And Hugh Jackman - Could It Happen In DEADPOOL 3?

It was recently confirmed that The Adam Project director Shawn Levy will take the helm of Deadpool 3, and the director is clearly keen to reunite Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman on screen again one day...

Filmmaker Shawn Levy has worked with both Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman on multiple occasions, including in Free Guy. However, the latter only had a voice cameo, and despite multiple teases and a lot of trolling online, the two actors haven't shared the screen since X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Levy, who was recently confirmed as the director of Marvel Studios' Deadpool 3, told ComicBook.com that he hopes to reunite Reynolds and Jackman...at some point in the not too distant future.

"I'm not going to say where and how, but I absolutely will confirm my intention and determination to be the lucky son of a b*tch who puts those two magnificent gods in the same movie together," he exclaimed prior to the Deadpool 3 news breaking. "That will happen and that will be me."

Reynolds was also asked about the possibility of reuniting with Jackman in a movie, but this time specifically regarding the next instalment in the Deadpool franchise. "That would be amazing. I say write to Kevin Feige, care of Marvel Cinematic Universe at whatever Buena Vista Way. I don't know where it is, but yeah, that would be nice. That would be a dream. That would be dream come true."

Is it a tad too optimistic to hope that Levy and Reynolds are already working on bringing Jackman into the MCU? While the actor has made it clear he's looking to move on from playing Wolverine after Logan, there's nothing to say he couldn't play another character, especially if the Merc with the Mouth is getting a fresh start courtesy of Marvel Studios. Heck, we'd bet on him making a great T-Ray!

Ultimately, it's probably going to depend on what Marvel Studios has planned for Wolverine and whether Jackman can finally be convinced to return to a comic book world and join Reynolds.

Deadpool 3 currently has no release date.

Just make it a post-credit scene of Reynolds and Jackman as themselves watching Deadpool 3 in the cinema

@bobevanz - Free Guy wasn't bad but he's been churning out mediocrity for 20 years. I doubt Deadpool 3 will be terrible but I doubt it'll be ambitious or exciting with Levy attached

They've both starred in films for him, and the two of them obviously have great camaraderie, so make it happen. Having said that, I just couldn't get into Real Steel. It was fine, but I didn't really care for it.

I remember him or Reynolds saying that they have plans to do a Buddy Cop movie, which would be fun!

If they HAVE to do it I got an idea...hear me out..

How about Deadpool is still hopping around time and space from Cable's gizmo at the end of DP2, ends up going to a variant world that's actually ours and he meets Jackman the actor playing Wolverine.. In walks Feige and says, WTF? (yes actual f bomb dropped by Feige) and says this isn't allowed or in the contract or something to that matter. They're all looking for Ryan Reynolds but Wade's keeping it hush that he killed him already. So much 4th wall breaking that could go down there.

It could work...Something similar to the last episode of The Spider-Man 94 series where Stan Lee featured. It also saves Jackman from going back on his word about not playing the character again.
