It's been a very busy week for news here on ComicBookMovie.com, and while there are pretty much no new releases coming out in 2020, we've still seen a lot of big movie and TV show updates shared by Marvel, DC Entertainment, and more. In fact, it's felt like business as usual in Hollywood!

There's a lot to delve into today, including some major Black Panther 2 and Deadpool 3 news, huge "creative differences" in the DC Extended Universe, and even a new trailer (it's been a while, eh?).

To take a look through these stories, all you guys need to do is hit the "Next" button down below.

10. Wonder Girl Is Getting Her Own TV Series On The CW

Wonder Girl hasn't actually been introduced in the comic books yet, but a TV series is in the works for The CW which will put the focus on Yara Flor, a character who will be revealed as the new Wonder Woman in the upcoming DC's Future Slate event in January.

Greg Berlanti and Queen of the South executive producer Dailyn Rodriguez are in charge of the series, and the plan is for it to put the spotlight on, "Yara Flor, a Latina Dreamer who was born of an Amazonian Warrior and a Brazilian River God, learns that she is Wonder Girl, and with her newfound power must fight the evil forces that would seek to destroy the world."

This fresh take on Wonder Woman sounds pretty great, and you can find more details here.

9. The Falcon And The Winter Soldier Merch Reveals A Big Spoiler

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier was supposed to hit Disney+ back in August, but the pandemic delayed shooting, and now we're not sure when exactly we'll get to see the Marvel Studios TV series.

Some promo art surfaced earlier this week, though, and by far the most interesting reveal is that C.I.A. agent Sharon Carter will be on the run in the upcoming Disney+ TV series. It's unclear whether the two title heroes will also be fugitives, but the government clearly hasn't forgiven Peggy Carter's niece after helping Captain America during the events of Civil War

8. New Details Revealed About HBO Max's Lantern

There's a lot of excitement surrounding the Green Lantern TV series, tentatively known as Lantern, which is coming to HBO Max, and we learned this week that it will boast a TV-MA rating (Stargirl, this ain't).

It's said that the Dominators will be the show's lead villains, and we even got some character breakdowns for Alan Scott, Guy Gardner, and Bree Jarta. Those include some interesting reveals, including apparent confirmation that Scott's scenes will indeed take place in the past rather than the present.

You can find those lengthy breakdowns for the three leads right here.

7. Richard E. Grant's Role In Loki Possibly Revealed

Richard E. Grant is no stranger to genre fare after recently starring in the likes of Logan and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and we've known for a while now that he has a role in Loki.

However, some information uncovered about Grant's stuntdouble, Dave Culter, reveals he's playing "Classic Loki." That definitely lends some weight to the theory the God of Mischief will encounter alternate universe versions of himself in the show, while Sophia Di Martino is believed to be playing the female Loki (all of this surely plays into the idea of a Multiverse too).

It's possible we'll see some sort of "Council of Lokis" in the show, and you can find more details here.

6. The Batman Spinoff Loses Its Showrunner

Ah, it's been a long time since we've had some good 'ol "creative differences," eh? Unfortunately, it was revealed this week that Boardwalk Empire's Terence Winter has left The Batman spinoff TV series coming to HBO Max in the not too distant future after he clashed with filmmaker Matt Reeves and producers over his vision for the HBO Max show.

Now, the hunt is on for a new showrunner to take charge of the series. There's no word on who that could be, but the fact that Winter was hired in the first place suggests the streaming service is looking for top tier talent. We also learned this week that the series has the working title of "Gotham Central," so that should give you an idea of what to expect.

5. A New Look At Steppenwolf In Justice League Arrives

Gina-Carano-is-Cara-Dune-and-Carl-Weathers-is-Greef-Karga-in-Lucasfilm-s-THE-MANDALORIAN-season-two-

Unfortunately, the "new" Justice League trailer released by Zack Snyder was the same as the DC FanDome version, albeit with a few new brief snippets of footage. It was still pretty awesome, but something that got fans talking was the first official image of Ciaran Hinds' redesigned, overhauled Steppenwolf.

It's quite honestly a million miles away from what Joss Whedon did in his cut of the 2017 movie, and the visual effects work that went into coming up with this design is seriously out of this world.

4. A First Look At Ms. Marvel Revealed

Ms. Marvel has started shooting in Atlanta, Georgia, and we have the set photos to prove it. They don't reveal much, but do give us a first look at newcomer Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan.

Those were followed by more images, this time showing The Walking Dead's Matt Lintz dressed up for Halloween as Bruce Banner and Kamala dressed as Captain Marvel (based on her appearance in Avengers: Endgame). Clearly, the live-action version of Ms. Marvel is a fangirl just like in the comics.

3. Wonder Woman 1984 Moves To HBO Max

Gina-Carano-is-Cara-Dune-and-Carl-Weathers-is-Greef-Karga-in-Lucasfilm-s-THE-MANDALORIAN-season-two-

This week, the news broke last night that Warner Bros. will release Wonder Woman 1984 on Christmas Day in theaters and on HBO Max (where it will be available for no extra charge). It could be a one-off or a sign of things to come, but DC Comics fans overseas will get the movie even sooner on December 16th. The caveat, however, is that it will only be in cinemas.

This is a game-changing decision on the part of the studio, and one they're quite clearly using to judge whether this could be a new business model for them even beyond the pandemic.

Insiders believe that the goal here is to bring more eyes to HBO Max. Read more here.

2. Black Panther 2 Casts A Villain And Eyes Production Start

Gina-Carano-is-Cara-Dune-and-Carl-Weathers-is-Greef-Karga-in-Lucasfilm-s-THE-MANDALORIAN-season-two-

Chadwick Boseman passed away earlier this year after a lengthy battle with cancer, but Marvel Studios is moving forward with Black Panther 2, and shooting is expected to begin next July.

It seems unlikely that the script has been totally rewritten, so there is a chance T'Challa will be recast. But with it being reported that Letitia Wright's Shuri is expected to "take on a more prominent role," don't be surprised if the actress ultimately suits up as the MCU's new Black Panther.

The sequel's villain has been cast too, and you can find the latest on that here.

1. Marvel Studios Is Finally Making Deadpool 3

Gina-Carano-is-Cara-Dune-and-Carl-Weathers-is-Greef-Karga-in-Lucasfilm-s-THE-MANDALORIAN-season-two-

Well, this was pretty mind-blowing. Deadpool 3 is finally moving forward at Marvel Studios with Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin signing up to pen the movie's screenplay. They're best known for their Emmy-award winning work on Bob's Burgers, and were chosen by Ryan Reynolds and Kevin Feige after pitching their take on the Merc with the Mouth this month.

It's said that this movie is going to be R-Rated, and we're assuming it will be set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. How that will work promises to be very interesting, but this is a step in the right direction for the threequel (which it appeared was never going to happen at one point).

The Deadpool Twitter account later confirmed the news, and you can see that by clicking here.

Off-Topic: got around to watching Greenland.

I always like Gerard Butler the dad fighting through the disaster after disaster, but that's not the reason why I liked this one in particular.

Sure it the comet and it's fallout wasn't the accurate part, but how humans act in the face of disaster probably is. And it definitely excells at that in my opinion.

@HeavyMetal4Life you were right for recommending this

Although I didn't plan for it, I also saw another ''impactful movie'' in The Sum of All Fears this weekend too.

That was pretty mediocre the first half and Ben Affleck doesn't make for a good Jack Ryan, the second half was pretty suspenseful
