Director Tim Miller Talks DEADPOOL 2 And 'Cable'
Director of the now highest grossing R-Rated movie of all time, Tim Miller, talks here about his plans for the Deadpool sequel. He even touches on the topic of Cable and what fans can expect to see from the character. Hit the jump to check it out.
2016's superhero season kicked off with a bang as Deadpool took fans and critics by storm. Since its release, everybody's been clamouring for more news about the eventual sequel, and more importantly, the character of Cable, who was confirmed for the sequel by the Merc with the Mouth himself in Deadpool's post-credit scene. Director Tim Miller has shed some light on his plans for the sequel, speaking with comicbook.com about the highly anticipated film. There was a lot of talk about bigger not being better as we've heard a few times before but Miller also said that he would "tell a story that's organic to the character... I don't think the fans of the movie like it because we have big effects." That's certainly true, as some of the only complaints being made about the film revolve around somewhat dodgy CGI.
Miller then moved on to talk about Cable, a character everyone's dying to see brought to the big screen. Specifically, Miller addressed the fan discussion on who should play the character. Miller said, "I have an idea of what Cable should be from reading the comics. So, someone in Des Moines, Iowa may have a different idea of Cable from reading the comics. I may not like his idea. I might read it, but I may not do it. I would say I listen to all of them, but I don't look to them to guide me. I look to the comic and why people like these characters." If that's not music to the ears of any comic book fan, I don't know what is. Miller seems pretty dead set on relying on the source material for his inspiration regarding the characters he puts into his Deadpool franchise.
