With $215 million at the North American box office and $419 million overseas, Doctor Strange has now earned $634 million worldwide. That means it has passed Iron Man 2 globally, and it should easily top Thor: The Dark World's $644 million in the coming weeks. Whether it will be able to beat Captain America: The Winter Soldier ($714 million) remains to be seen, but this is a pretty amazing result.

Going back to this weekend, and Moana - which stars Dwayne Johnson - came out on top with $28 million. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was in second place, and has now hit $600 million worldwide. It may not be a $1 billion hit like the final Harry Potter movie, but that's a solid start for a franchise Warner Bros. hopes will launch four more sequels. Oh, and Arrival has now hit $100 million.

What did you guys watch this weekend? How high do you think Doctor Strange will ultimately go? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts on these box office numbers in the comments section.

And to think this movie might not have happened the way it had if Kevin Smith hadn't trash-talked one of the writers on Twitter.
