Now I work as a manager at the cinemas here in Australia at Village. Dream Job! We can only surf imdb.com for product knowledge. Today I stumbled upon a movie I used to always see at the video store.
DOCTOR MORDRID!

And doing a little more investigation today I found that:

"This movie was originally developed as a feature about Marvel Comics' master magician Dr. Strange. Somewhere along the way, the rights to the name were lost and the script was re-tooled."

WTF?!?! DARN IT HOLLYWOOD!!

It stars Jeffrey Combs who was in such great films like "Frightners," "The Phantom Empire," and has lent his voice to a few DC animated shows.

If you guys already know this, but I could not stop laughing at the trailer. ENJOY!.. Ok well I know he doesn't have the goatee but ENJOY!

Friggin Hilarious!Really,you could see a lot of Doctor strangey Elements and material taken from the comic!oh well lets be glad the Doctor Strange deal never went though on this one because it is a epic failure!

I remember when this came out. there were many comparisons to Dr. Strange concerning it. It just look so laughable(even then) that I did not bother to rent it. Of course theres was the Dr. Strange TV movie in the '70s that actually made this movie look good. =)

Wow - that trailer was actually better than I thought it was gonna be.

Cool to see Jeffrey Combs though - he was easily the best thing in The Frighteners.

I've seen this, I've got this on VHS... Hell it was on the SYFY CHANNEL a couple of months ago????

Its hardly news this is like DR STRANGE lol? ; D

Btw DOCTOR STRANGE has a real movie (TV movie) bk in the late '70s (I think?) as well.

OH GOD! When I was little, I remember going into the video store that was located next to my apartment and seeing this movie on the shelf. I guess I'm glad I never rented it. XD

I watched the movie on YouTube - thanks for the tip. The film was a 1978 made-for-TV pilot. As such it looked like most of the stuff that came out then. Not better, not worse. If you judge it by today's standards it stinks. Bur this file was made 32 years ago. Look at it from that perspective - and enjoy it.
