AHHHHHHH to be young again!!

AHHHHHHH to be young again!!

Ok, so with "The Expendables" coming out this friday and I was also inspired by the Fan Fic article "Iron-man (1980)" by axelbratoski, I started thinking to myself.."hmmmmm"...What if An Avengers movie came out in the 80's?? This was pretty fun too.

So here it is and some of it is pretty funny. The criteria I used was a majority cast that was born in the 50's, which means they would be at their prime for this type of movie. Of course there is a couple of exceptions for obvious reasons, and I'll explain who throughout the article.WARNING...POSSIBLE MULLETT ALERT!!

So for my first casting is the obvious...The one man who got this little ensemble together. Now I know I could have just went with the obvious choice and stuck with SLJ, but what's the fun in that? I give you 2 choices..which ever your preference would be.....

We'll stick with the sequence of events during this time period...

For this next character, I saw this pix and thought to myself "THAT'S TONY STARK!!" LOL ok not really, but he does fit the description, especially if we're talking about actors at their best. And the 80's was this guy's best. Now he WAS born in 1949 (which would make him in his late 30s), but I always pictured Stark as being the oldest guy in the group. So here he is. I give to you..

Now what was next? Ahhhhh yes, the green machine himself. Ok so I didn't really cast the Hulk himself, but I did come up with someone to play his alter ego. I never would have thought this guy for Banner, but when I came across this pix, he just may be able to fit the bill. I thought he was good in Independence Day and he DID play a scientist there as well. Anyways here he is...

Ok, I guess we can go with the next character we saw during the coming of the Avengers saga. Now, not a really good pix, but again, she fits the bill. She's kicked a$$ on Red Sonja and keep in mind, this is the same girl who played Ivan Drago's wife in Rocky 4. hint..she had a great Russian accent in that movie too. Oh and she proved she knows how to handle a gun too in Beverly Hills Cop 2.Anyways, I present..

Now of course we need Tony's good friend "Rhodey". Rmember, this Fan Fic are for actors/actresses in the 80's. To this day, I still get impressed with this guys acting ability. He envokes that military presence to me, good look, and is a few years younger than Tom Selleck, but it just may work....

Let's see who's next? Oh yeah... Speaking of Ivan Drago...ok ok let me finish first...true he never had many lines in his movies, so we really can't tell how far his acting ability goes. Maybe with some hardcore acting lessons, but you never know...

Alright, down to the nitty gritty. Ok, everyone knows who the next character would be. So I used a formula of a sort of quiet guy, who doesn't seem too confident in taking charge of a team. Also a guy who had some type of fighting skill, and projects that all american dude, and when you look at him, the first thing you say to yourself is "American" so here's who I came up with..
Photobucket

Well that's it for the upcoming movies. So lets get to the team we have yet to see on camera shall we? Here we go!!!

We already know that Hawkeye will be making an appearance very soon in the Avengers. So back in the 80's who was sort of a show boat? Who can portray that cockiness in screen, but still be cool to the viewers? I was actually thinking of this guy to play good ol' Cap, but after reminding myself how badly he butchered Batman, I thought HELL NO, but he does have acting chops. I wont drag it out any longer...
Photobucket

ok where was I? that's right!! when the hell is this couple going to make their presence known in this Legacy of Marvel Movies. They were both on the Animated Features. So whats the problem???
Anyways, I don't really have much to back this guy up other than the fact that he's got great acting chops and a great look to play Hank. Maybe someone else can come up with a better sub. But for the Wasp herself....I was thinking of the Wasp's petiteness (is that even a word?)and Then I was going over her costume. "hmmmm black and gold....gold....sexy gold outfit.....gold bikini"
HAAAAAAA YES THAT'S PERFECT!!!!! you may not agree comicbookmovie but you will agree with her sexiness and outfit. I give you...
Photobucket

Ok peoples I got 2 left. These next 2 were just for fun so don't get all dramatic on me.

I wanted a guy who can act, give the team guidance, show them the right path through a solemn voice. Someone who would stay in the cut, but when needed, would kick some major evil A$$. I offer....
Photobucket

Yes he seems too old, but that's what this is about, besides...check his year of birth lol

Ok Last but not least..yes this one was strictly just for fun..no explanations, just a smile and a possible laugh was needed...
Photobucket

Well, there you have it ladies and gentlemen my "80's Avengers" cast. I may add on to this, cause I had alot of fun with it. Still trying to look for a Namor and I may go in to the x-men as well lol who knows. Don't get too crazy and angry. Remember...this was just for fun. If you disagree with me, i will offer no arguement or defense just a smile lol. Anyways, Happy reading peeps!!

Love this Fan cast! Lol Great Ideas and Michael Dudikoff is awesome. If you ever go back and watch his fight scenes in American Ninja and Human Shield you would see how he fights like Cap. He would be awesome.

In the '80s I always pictured Timothy Dalton as Stark, but Selleck seems like a more obvious choice. Maybe Dalton could fill the Namor role however. I love Kilmer for Hawkeye. Nice casting. What storyline would you go with?

Hey thanks for the comments every1. As i said b4, you won't hear any arguments from me.
@ Romack, don't really have much of a storyline preference. This was just for fun.
This was my 2nd casting on this site. My 1st one was a Street Fighter one. I'm actually adding more characters to that one and I'm probably gonna be posting it soon. Thanks again every1 and here's that smile lol...

The best ones on it are:
Jeff Goldblum as Banner, Liam Neeson as The Vision and Kevin Costner as Hank Pym
