Animated Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe Fancast

When worlds collide...

I was thinking about the DC animated movies that have come to DVD over the past few years and while playing "Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe" on my PS3, it hit me that if done right, this could be one hell of a movie. Here are the people I see best for voice work.

-MORTAL KOMBAT-

I think Jason Scott Lee would be a good voice for Liu Kang due to how his voice worked for Bruce Lee in "Dragon" many years ago.

Dina Meyer as Princess Kitana works for me. She's a versatile, underrated actress whose voice would sound well here.

Photobucket

Eliza Dushku tends to play the hardcore badass chick which perfectly embodies Sonya.

Photobucket

Keith David, in live action would be perfect for Jax if only he were a bit younger. Naturally, that makes him great for his voicework. He voiced Spawn in the HBO Spawn animated series, so he has experience voicing military types.

Photobucket

I like Steve Blum for Sub-Zero. He's not just one note. I expect Sub-Zero to sound close to Duke from G.I.Joe: Resolute.

Photobucket

Ed Boon for Scorpion is obvious. He's the voice behind the immortal words "GET OVER HERE!"

Photobucket

Bruce Locke played Shang Tsung in "Mortal Kombat Conquest" and the voice was great for the soul stealing immortal.

Photobucket

I'd expect Clancy Brown to use his Gorrath voice here for Baraka, or something similar.

Photobucket

Before you go "umm, isn't that Lister from Red Dwarf?" look up and watch the episode "Polymorph" when Lister loses his fear. Instant Kano.

Photobucket

Yes, I agree with the entire planet that "Mortal Kombat: Annihilation" was absolutely horrible. I was watching an episode of Dexter. I was suffering a major headache (I had brain surgery in October of 2010) and I closed my eyes. When Remar started giving some bigtime advice to Michael C. Hall and it hit me: Remar's ACTING for Raiden may have been atrocious, but he SOUNDED like I would expect Raiden to!

Direct Christopher Sabat with a slightly modified King Piccolo voice and you have a perfect Shao Kahn.

Photobucket

Quan Chi is probably THE most sinister character in either universe, and I'm not just referring to the 23 character roster. Andrew Divoff does evil and sinister like no other, and I can see his voice coming from Quan Chi's mouth.

John DiMaggio works well for the Flash because I'm hard pressed to find a good number of people he's NOT good for. I think he should be listed as one of the elites in voicework next to Frank Welker and Kevin Michael Richardson.

Photobucket

I really don't think this requires an explination...

Photobucket

Let's face it. When you watched Xena or Hercules for the first time, what was running through your heads? For the next chunk of years, could you really think of anyone NOT named Lucy Lawless for Wonder Woman?

Photobucket

We've heard David Boreanaz voicework on Hal Jordan. We've also heard Christopher Meloni. I honestly feel the Buffalo NY native wins the voice actor duel here.

Photobucket

Going with Tom Kane for Captain Marvel based on his work as Magneto in "Wolverine and the X-Men"

Photobucket

Yes, "The Batman" was a TERRIBLE series. It's one bright spot came from Kevin Michael Richardson's work as the Joker. I loved his "You don't know what Joker Putty does to humans!" conversation.

Photobucket

She was my favorite Catwoman and I trust her to be just as perfect here.

Photobucket

David Kaye is the man who voiced Nathan Hale in the "Resistance" series for PS3. That alone makes me like him for Deathstroke.

Photobucket

While he never has and never will look the part of Lex Luthor, he's done just about every Luthor-esque character I can think of. Who better?

Photobucket

See Batman explination

And finally...

Get Sabat (Kahn) and Duncan (Darkseid) to do their lines for Dark Kahn, then sync them together (example: Vegito/Gogeta)

So, umm, what do you think?

My favorite one to post was Divoff as Quan Chi. HUGE fan of the first 2 Wishmaster movies and Quan Chi just has a Djinn feel to him.

I'd probably fanfic a few of the post-endings stories...

"Sonya Blade: Green Lantern"

During the World-Merge Crisis, a member of the Green Lantern Corps. had fallen. The ring found its way to Sonya as the universes seperated.

"Lex Luthor/Quan Chi Deadly Alliance"

Luthor had stolen data for portal tech from the Special Forces base during the crisis. He has his operatives build a machine in the lower levels of Lex Corps. Being the genius yet moron he tends to be, he uses the technology to bring Quan Chi to the DC Universe.

"Shao Kahn: New Empire"

After the battle, Shao Kahn and Darkseid had each found themselves in the wrong universe. Shao Kahn was transported to the Negative Zone, in the thought that it would keep him depowered. Oops... Noone stopped to think "Umm, this guy's power is magic based." The Negative Zone makes the Emperor more powerful than ever before. He breaks out easily, and in return for breaking out the Kryptonian villains, they pledge their loyalty to Shao Kahn.

@TheEmperor
It's the Phantom Zone, not the Negative Zone. The Negative Zone's that place in Marvel Comics where Blastaar and Annihilus live.

I knew I was doing something wrong. I just couldn't put my finger on what. Thanks.
