Fan cast for the Justice League

Fan cast for the Justice League

Due to becoming tired with the same faces in almost every fancast, I have set out to create an original fancast.

Due to my becoming tired of seeing the same faces in every fancast(seriously, Fassbender, Olivia Wilde and Zoe Saldana can't be in everything) I have decided to do my best to create a cast featuring actors and actresses with no ties to any prior comic book movies as well as people who had starring roles in television based superhero series. Also, to make this more interesting, no one with direct ties to Nolan or Whedon will be put into my cast.

If this is well received I will move forward with my idea to cast people under the same criteria in other casts as they come to me.

For the most part I am not looking for superstars for the parts. I want anonymity to a degree so that you become submersed in the movie, not who is in it. i feel background and secondary characters can be filled with bigger stars.

Superman

Superman @ Saló del Cómic

Kellan Lutz
Kellan Lutz

You can hate on this dude for his involvement in the Twilight movies, but you can't disregard that the dude has the physical makeup to easily don the suit. He is a fairly decent actor that can play the role of a leader like Superman

BATMAN
batman

Jake Gyllenhaal
Jake Gyllenhaal.

Love or hate this guy, he is due for a comic role. He is one of the few actors of appropriate age that has the good looks to be the billionaire playboy Bruce Wayne and also the physicality to be a great Batman. He is a good actor that can play charming and sophisticated and then flip and be tough and focused and kick ass.

Wonder Woman
wonder woman

Meghan Ory
Meghan Ory

Dark hair, blue eyes, good height and beautiful. The fan favorite seems to be Gina Carano with good reason. She has the look, but lacks the acting chops. Ory on the other hand has the acting ability, and the look, but just needs a little work with a trainer to tone up and look the part of a fighter and be more than just a pretty face.

Green Lantern(Hal Jordan)
Green Lantern cartoon Hal Jordan

Mike Vogel
Mike Vogel

Good looking guy who has been among finalists for the parts of Captain Kirk, Captain America, and Angel in X-Men Last Stand. He is a good actor who can play Hal Jordan with ease. Can do sarcasm, can do serious and be a great person for the part

Aquaman
Aquaman

Charlie Hunnam
charlie-hunnam-promo-shot

Great actor who is soon to become a household name with the release of Del Toro's Pacific Rim this year. He has been a favorite to play Green Arrow, but i believe he has the ability and presence to take Aquaman from overlooked member of the Justice League and the joke of the team to a focal point and make the character hugely relevant to the masses.

U lead up to, presumably, a great, new and exciting cast of the most powerful heroes and u start the cast with a boy. I don't care about Twilight, but Lutz is not Superman. He's too old to be Superboy and to fresh to be Superman. The actor who fills that spot should be equal parts farm boy and power house.

Jake is a common pick for Batman so u see harder than not to choose the same ol' actors over and over. Still a great choice in my eyes though.

U can't bulk that girl up. She's not right for a smooth-skinned Amazon.

You got it right with GL and Aquaman, great job, even though Vogal been used enough times to be a regular and Hunnam has been used for every hero with blonde hair for a long time now.

Flash? Martian Manhunter? Villains?

I am only familiar with two of your choices- Hunnam and Gyllenhaal.
Hunnam could pull off Aquaman, but he certainly isnt a fresh face.
Even though Gyllenhaal may have the "playboy" good looks of Bruce Wayne, I think he lacks the size and intensity to portray Batman.
I completely agree with you on Ory, though. She has the regal, womanly beauty that Wonder Woman needs.

Sorry you lost me at Kellen Lutz. So I can't comment on the rest of your cast.

If this was for a show for the CW i'd excuse it, cause it seems like some of the choices they'd make when they want to appeal to ovaries and male hormones

I knew the Lutz pick would be pretty much panned. I just recently watched a movie of his called Arena with Samuel L Jackson. it for the most part is a pretty shitty movie, but he is decent in the movie. Get the guy a good script and a chance to actually act instead of pose like in the Twilight movies and he could surprise some people.

The Gyllenhaal pick is one i made because i feel this dude is due for a comic role. He seemingly is always amongst a short list for a part and then passed over again and again, so I decided he could be a great Batman. much better than cancer voice Bale. Also, his build is surprisingly impressive as he in recent years has packed on some muscle. Plus the suits always wind up padded, so any muscle he lacks won't be obvious while in suit.

Ory is a beautiful woman. And if men can put on some muscle for a part, there is no reason to believe a woman can't. I didn't want the stock Gina Carano pick for Wonder Woman. I wanted an actress who can work with a trainer and be great in the part. Not a pick who looks the part, but can't act the part.

Vogel and Hunnam are just good actors who would kill these parts. Hunnam gets a lot of notice for Green Arrow, and while he looks the part i think his talent could make an otherwise boring character like Aquaman and make him interesting, relevant and fun to watch

I didn't do Flash and Martian Manhunter because I felt that with 7 superheroes the movie becomes too jumbled with trying to get each character their screen time. Plus i have never been a fan of Barry Allen(Wally West fan) and i don't like Martian Manhunter

i didn't do a villain since i assume more than likely it will be Darkseid and most likely he will be completely CGI. but voice acting I would like Tony Todd.

Again nothing against Lutz as an actor, but, for a younger New 52 Supes, maybe Liam Hemsworth. He's hands down my 52 Superman with Armie Hammer behind him.

Like I said, I'm with you on Jake.

She, to me, is not beautiful and she seems to thin to pack on the appropriate muscle. Taylor Cole has a strong enough physique and can build onto it. She, unlike the way u feel with Gina, can act.

Again, with you on Vogal and Hunnam.

Hmmm, no Flash or MM; it's your cast your choice... I like Flash but you have your own ideas, i do it all the time in my casts. I cant argue =)

I see your point on the CGI villain; what about his crinies, Kalibak, Granny, Furies and supporting heroes, Barda Miracle, Orion...?

A) Every actor named, besides Lutz (which would be dreadful) has been seen on multiple fan casts.

B) Gyllenhaal was runner up for the role of Batman in Begins, but lost it to Bale

C) I like Hunnam as Aquaman. Good choice. Vogel and Ory are also inspired.

D) I'm not afraid to admit that Gyllenhaal can act. And, now that I think of it, he does bear a slight resemblance to Capullo's Bruce. My thing is, I REALLY want to see a relative unknown as Batman.

I think WB/DC struck gold with Cavill as Superman, and this is because, not only does he look the part, but a) he has a passion and respect for the character, and b) it's relatively difficult to tie him to anything else (unless you watched The Tudors, Stardust, Immortals, The Cold Light of Day, etc).

I am 100% set with Armie Hammer as Bruce in the DC Cinematic Universe. Because:

1) Like Cavill with Superman (McG's Superman Flyby), Hammer has been snubbed before when it comes to the character of Batman (in the form of 2009's cancelled Justice League Mortal), and didn't get the chance to see it through. Like Cavill, give him a chance to do so.

2) He is still relatively unknown, with his biggest role being The Lone Ranger in this summer's upcoming blockbuster. He also tried his hand at drama with the Winklevoss twins in The Social Network (for which he was nominated for the Toronto Film Critics Association Award for Best Supporting Actor). Mirror Mirror wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be (still pretty bad), but it showed that Hammer can do silly and family freindly. It's called "range".

3) Because of JLM, Hammer has had a chance to read up on the character and gotten to know him. He is a behemoth of a man, standing at 6'5", making him more than able to to stand his ground when confronted by Cavill's Man of Steel. Some may consider this a problem given that Cavill is a mere 6'1", but this "problem" COULD be fixed with clever camera angles and such. I personally don't see the need, because despite his boy scout reputation, Clark KNOWS that he is powerful, and suffers from a slight ego problem...

4) The Lone Ranger is basically Batman in the wild west. Hammer is incredibly charming and charismatic (just watch interviews or one of his numerous talk show appearances), making the mask of Bruce Wayne undoubtedly a breeze for him, but his ability to play dark and conflicted will be on full display in TLR. Honestly, much like what Warrior was for Tom Hardy, The Lone Ranger is Hammer's Batman audition tape.

The only real problem I have with your cast is Lutz. And I like Corano. Haven't seen her act, but her and Cavill are currently dating, and it would be neat to see that chemistry tranfer to Kal El and Diana's relationship...

His role as Sam Flynn in TRON: Legacy convinced me that Garrett Hedlund would be a GREAT Green Arrow

I'm not one of those guys that gets too bothered by height but the people that want Hammer as Batman and Cavill as Superman, your Batmans going to [frick]ing tower over your superman choice. Hammer 6'5 where as cavills either 6 or 6'1.
