Gotham is in a state of depression, the housing market has crashed and many people are out of jobs. Many people resort to robbing the rich. Joe chill was one of those people, his actions led to the birth of the Dark Knight. Class warfare runs rampant throughout the streets of gotham. The rich are very rich and the poor are very poor, there is no middle ground only heaven and hell. Many people feel like Batman is responsible for this. However it is the Demon head himself Ra's Al Ghul. He thought to himself "If I can get Gotham city to hate and despise Batman they will rise and rebel against their own savior. The end for them will come very soon." Bruce Wayne is hosting a party to celebrate his new humanitarian program to save rain-forests in South America. Everybody is there including Lucius Fox, Alfred, even Viki Vale. For a moment every thing is right. Batman has met his first love in Viki Vale. They dance to smooth contemporary classical music when all of a sudden a bomb detonates. Chaos and confusion was among all of them even the all mighty Batman. Some people even died, but who could be behind such a evil plot? Not the joker he was still in Arkham. Batman had to know, the thought of someone crashing his own party and endangering the lives of his loved ones kept him up all night. Gotham's citizen's were in a uproar. The people vented all of their anger and frustration towards Batman. They felt like he was somehow responsible for their poverty. Even the socialites thought that the masked vigilante should be put in jail. Alfred said to Batman: "Crime is a global issue you'll never stop it." All of these events were snowballing into what was going to be a epic battle with the immortal Ra's Al Ghul.
