I am a BIG fan of the MASS EFFECT series, I originally had a XBOX-360 and bought the first game. I beat the game several times and loved every second of it and I told my best friend and I "Wouldn't this be epic if it got made into a film". He agreed so we made the MASS EFFECT fancast.
For Commander Shepard I have 3 choices.
Henry Cavill, Christian Bale or Sam Witwer as Commander "John" Shepard
Reasons for Cavill- Cavill is going to have a big career after playing Superman in Man of Steel. He was good on IMMORTALS, which he played a leader type, he has the acting chops to play Shepard after seeing him on The Tudors. I know Cavill can pull off Shepard, I just know it.
Reasons for Bale- He is FN Batman, also Bale is a fan favorite for the role of Commander Shepard. How Bale played John Connor on Terminator 4, reminds me of Shepard. Bale was awesome on American Psycho, Reign of Fire, Public Enemies and ofcourse is an awesome Batman. If they want a good actor they should get Bale.
Reasons for Witwer- He is Starkiller for starters, he is good on Being Human, Force Unleashed 1-2, Dexter. Witwer can pull it off as Shepard, he did a great voicing Darth Maul on the Clone Wars, Darth Sidious in the Force Unleashed games. I just thought I would be original and having an under rated actor as one my choices for Shepard.
In my Mass Effect 2 on PS3, Shepard's first name is John, he is a Soldier, he was a Spacer (moved place to place in Space since his parents worked in the Alliance). In my script I made which was destroyed by my cousins ex, Anderson was a close friend to Shepards father, which is why the 2 have a good friendship. Sounds cheasy I know but would make Anderson another good reason why Anderson chose Shepard to take control of the Normandy.
Colbie Smulders or Michelle Rodriguez as Ashley Williams
Reasons for Colbie Smulders- I love her on How I Met Your Mother, she is great on the show and she going to play Maria Hill on The AVENGERS. I thought she is a good choice for Ashley Williams since Colbie is a Canadian and I want atleast 1 Canadian actor in my fancasts (minus Dragon Age). Ig given a chance she can do a great job as Ash.
Reasons for Michelle Rodriguez- She is a fan favorite for the role of Ashley Williams. She is also a good actress loved her in Girlfight, Battle LA, S.W.A.T. She is a good choice for Ash.
Brandon Keener as the voice of Garrus
Reason- The guy IS Garrus, he voiced the character in all 3 games so why not let him reprise his role. Besides NO one can a better Garrus then the guy who voiced him in all 3 games. Keener will motion capture Garrus.
Seth Green as Joker
Reason- Do I NEED to say WHY, he IS Joker
Michael Clarke Duncan as the voice of Wrex
Reason- Michael Clarke Duncan is another fan favorite to voice Wrex, besides which Comic Book fan doesn't love the guy's powerful voice. The guy was AWESOME as Killawog in Green Lanter (hopes it gets a Sequel), the guy can NAIL the voice as Wrex. Also he will motion capture Wrex as well.
Zachary Levi as Kaiden Alenko
Reason- I love this guy from CHUCK (sad it ended), besides he can sure pull off playing Kaiden. My only complaint about Kaiden is on Mass Effect 1, Kaiden looked a south east Indian descent. While on Mass Effect 3, he is white WTF Bioware. Anyways Levi is the only guy I can see as Kaiden.
Gemma Arterton as Liara T'Soni
Reason- Good actress, another favorite for the role, I on the other thinks she deserves. I did NOT add her because everyone else was, I add Gemma because she is a good actress and I think she would do a great job as Liara.
Summer Glau as Tali
Reason- Saw her on Firefly (DAMN YOU FOX, for cancelling Firefly), Terminator the Sarah Connor Chronichles. To which she sort of reminded me of Tali when she played those characters. She is a good actress and I know she can pull off Tali in a Mass Effect film.
Keith David as Cpt. Anderson
Reason- Do also need to say WHY, he IS Anderson and he isn't that old to play him.......Yet.
Sam Elliott as General Hackett
Reason- I ALWAYS wanted Elliott to be Hackett, but a few others already chose him to be Hackett, so I said "F it, I want Elliot as Hackett, I'll add I'm either way". Sam was AWESOME on Tombstone, which made me chose Elliott as Hackett.
Jack Slattery as Donnel Udina
Reason- Saw Slattery in a couple previous fancasts, I do not really like Udina so I didn't care who they cast as Udina.
Michelle Pfeiffer as Matriarch Benezia
Reason- I cast Michelle as Flemeth on my Dragon Age Origins fancasts which the game is made by Bioware who also made Mass Effect. I chose Michelle is because she is a good actress and can pull off as a villain. Also Stardust convinced me to cast her as Matriarch and Flemeth.
Hugo Weaving as Saren
Reason- I love Hugo Weaving (not in that way ofcourse), he was awesome on The Matrix, Lord of the Rings, V for Vendetta and was an AWESOME voice for Megatron in the Michael Bay films yeah that was him who voiced Megatron). I can easily see him as Saren.
If the Mass Effect movie came out within 3-4 years, who do you think the writers will choose Shepard to save and leaving the other to die.
If Shepard is a male, it'll be Ashley as she would be his love interest.
However IF WB decided to make Shepard a chick, they would keep Kaiden alive.
It doesn't matter to me as long they get the film RIGHT.
