This is my revised version of a MGS Fancast I did last year. Plus with the recent Official Announcement from Kojima-San at The 25th Anniversary of Metal Gear at PAX, I saw a few fancasts popping up.

The Metal Gear Series is my favorite Video Game francise with MGS1 and Snake Eater being the best entries in the series. While I would love to see it done using photorealistic animation like Final Fantasy: Spirits Within in order to keep the respective voice actors, especially David Hayter, in their roles I know its not possible. So this would be my take on a live action adaption of the original PSOne Classic.

Solid Snake

Christian Bale

As Seen In:
Batman Trilogy
The Prestige
American Psycho
3:10 to Yuma

I know this might seem like a pretty generic pick but he has been rumored to have been in the running to play Snake, as well as being a fan of the games and after seeing that manip of him, I say he'll do great under that bandanna. One of my favorite actors of all time and I take his role as John Connor in Terminator Salvation as a template for Snake (hell he even uses a MK23 SOCOM as his sidearm throughout the film too)

Liquid Snake

Hugh Jackman

As Seen In:
X-Men
The Prestige
Van Helsing

Hugh Jackman seems to also be a fan favorite for the role of Snake but how about one top choice playing Solid and the other playing Liquid? I wouldnt mind seeing that happen plus in The Prestige Jackman and Bale antagonizing eachother was very well done.

OR

Toby Stephens

As Seen In:
Die Another Day

My original choice. I'm aware that the Snakes are twins but I couldnt see that working on screen. I thought he was a great villian in Die Another Day.

Revolver Ocelot

Gary Oldman

As Seen In:
Batman Trilogy
Dracula
Harry Potter
Air Force One

Gary Oldman is a great very versatile actor and is different in each one of his roles so I can see him bringing alot of depth to Ocelot. Plus its been awhile since he's been in a villainous role.

Colonel Roy Campbell

Martin Sheen

As Seen In:
Apocalypse Now
The West Wing
The Amazing Spider-Man

He's played countless Military officers throughout his career so the Colonel should be fairly easy for him.

Meryl Silverburgh

Evan Rachel Wood

As seen In:
Across the Universe
The Wrestler
True Blood

She's only 23 but has brought such great performances in most of her roles not to mention she's a natural redhead and is very attractive like Meryl. Plus I noticed in some roles she can look alot younger and in others she can look alot older and more mature which would be perfect for Meryl as In MGS1 Meryl's still a young naive teenager while in MGS4 she's a full fledged soldier in charge of her own unit.

Hal Emmerich "Otacon"

Justin Bartha

AS Seen In:
National Treasure
The Hangover

As good as an actor he is, I always thought that Fan Favorite Cillian Murphy had too much of a "bad guy" look to him. Justin has always played the sidekick, as seen in National Treasure and The Hangover and is always the sense of comic relief which is perfect for Otacon.

Naomi Hunter

Rose Byrne

As Seen In:
Insidious
Bridesmaids
X-Men: First Class

I decided to change my first pick (Rachel Weisz) to Rose Byrne bevcuase of age difference and with Rose having a slightly more exotic look to her.

Sniper Wolf

Stana Katic

As Seen In:
Castle
Quantum Of Solace
Batman: Arkham City

I found Stana to be a more appropriate choice for Sniper Wolf than Charlize Theron. Beautiful, Tall, Sexy and can put on a VERY convincing and almost unrecognizable european accent. Here's proof:

Frank Jaeger "Gray Fox"

Scott Adkins

As Seen In:
X-Men Origins: Wolverine
The Expendables 2

Someone made a suggestion about Scott on my last fancast and I was pretty convinced. He definitely has the build and martial arts ability for Gray Fox.

Psycho Mantis

Doug Jones

As Seen In:
Hellboy
Pan's Labyrinth
F4: Rise of the Silver Surfer

Like Gray Fox, Mantis spends all his screen time under a mask so a bigname actor wasnt needed. Jones is known for his prosthetic roles and is just the right height, build and weight to play Mantis. Plus I get a creepy vibe off him...

Vulcan Raven

Jason Mamoa

As Seen In:
Conan The Barbarian (2011)
Stargate: Atlantis
Game Of Thrones

Just the look of Jason screamed Raven to me. Standing at 6'5 and built like a tank he certainly has the right intimidating presence of the character plus he isnt a completely horrible actor....

Anyways I couldnt find anyone for the rest of the characters such as Mei Ling, Kenneth Baker, Natasha, Donald Anderson and etc. so if you've got any ideas sound off below.

Also I found these fake MGS posters done by Fine Line Kreative and I thought they were amazing:

[frick] Christian Bale as Solid Snake. He would be [frick]ing terrible. Hugh Jackman for Snake physically, Hayter for voice over in post-produciton.

@MDHENDRICKS Thanks dude I appreciate that

@Darkclypse To each their own...but seeing as this is my fancast, my choices. IMO Bale is a better actor than Jackman, although Hugh for sure has the better physicality for Snake but looks arent everything. As for Hayter voicing over in post production, imo that would be a complete waste of both Hayter and whoever is playing Snake, as the physical actor we see is giving an excellent performance lines and all only to be redone by someone else in Post.....the only way I see Hayter being able to voice the character is if the movie is animated.

I like the cast man. The MGS series has always been one of my top 3 or 4 favorite video game series and thought it could translate well on screen. Especially the first game on PS1. Have you thought about who could direct this? I have always thought that even though he has never directed a motion picture before, Hideo Kojima would/should be on the list. You know he would put the love and care into it that is required given the lack of great video game movies. Again, good cast bro.

@RingoMoon Thanks dude. Good question on the directing. You know I don't see any reason why Kojima wouldn't do it. He knows the story and characters better than anyone and honestly I'd feel relieved if he directed. Other than him I haven't put much thought into directors, so who would you suggest?

@VanCityKid- I know that studio execs probably wouldn't trust Kojima to direct given his lack of experience, but he needs produce and help with the writing for sure... But if the stars were to line up corectly and I had my top picks they would be Ridley Scott (one of the few directors who can handle characters, CGI, and action), JJ Abrams (this type of story could be right up his ally, even if it is a little darker tone then he's used too and has the potential to be this generations Speilberg), and Guillermo del Torro (he has the visual style for MGS and he has a love for video games/comic books so I think he would care for the project with respect).
