My Marvel Cinematic Universe Movie Theory

This is a short theory on the films within the MCU, and trying to figure out if any non-Marvel Studios films are in the MCU.

Hi, Spider-Miles here, with a theory based on the Marvel logo in MCU and Non-MCU movies.

So, you may have seen the new Marvel Studios logo, if you haven't, it's pretty awesome, however, in The Avengers and Iron Man 3, this is the logo shown.



This logo is very similar to the new Marvel Studios logo, but it is without the "Studios" under it.

For Non-MCU films (The Wolverine most recently), it has the same logo used since Spider-Man in 2002.



Now this logo is in all non-MCU movies, except 2012's The Amazing Spider-Man, which has the same logo used in The Avengers and Iron Man 3.

Now here's where the theory starts, if you remember the news (rumour?) that the Oscorp Tower was to appear in The Avengers NYC skyline, but fell through, then you'll also remember all the speculation of Marc Webb's TASM movie being a part of the MCU, obviously this isn't the case... or is it?

I find it rather odd that The Amazing Spider-Man has that specific logo, used in Avengers and Iron Man 3, yet other non-MCU films released since then have had the original Marvel logo (this one doesn't have the box).

The way to differentiate MCU-set films from the others is to look at the logo, with the MCU films (pre-Avengers) having the word studios under the MARVEL logo, and with post-Avengers films, the new logo, but the fact that The Amazing Spider-Man had the same Marvel logo as The Avengers and Iron Man 3 just seems a little bit strange.

We won't find out if The Amazing Spider-Man series is a member of the MCU until -
1: some official confirmation
2: If TASM 2 has the new MS logo, the boxed one or the original.
3: References to the MCU.

I doubt that they're connected. I guess we'll find out when TASM 2 and Cap come out

TASM may or may not be in the MCU, but a great fact is that Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios did work closely with Sony while making TASM and is said that Marvel Studios works closer with Sony and Spidey more than they do with FOX owned Marvel characters.

Like i said, Spidey may or may not be in the MCU eventually, but its good to know that the people at Marvel Studios actually do help Sony.

so that may be why TASM had the same logo as The Avengers and IM3

But I doubt they're connected.

Pending I agree. If there was plans for it to be connected, then it's dropped now.

Besides honestly while TASM was ok, I didn't think it was MCU quality.

Interesting theory but i have my doubts with TASM 2 using the Marvel Studios logo. However, if they do then i'll be hyped.

Nice write-up. I think the theory is a HUGE stretch right now. However, one thing you could've brought up to support you case is the very noticable Spiderman nod on agents of shield.

I do agree with that this appearst o have been in the works pre-Avengers, but it must've fallen through. Wasn't the spiderman actor even spotted on set at one point...?

I love how the new logo features Wolverine, Xavier, Colossus, Rogue, and Polaris (that I can tell). Ms Marvel's in there around the 4 second mark (right before Colossus' arm).

I'm pretty sure Marvel Studios can use whatever logo they want...

Whoever composed the music to the new logo should be allowed to compose the score A2:AoU, the music sounds very heroic and would fit well with the movie.

Kk kool thank u, yeah he should compose the score for A2, if any of the Marvel Studios films deserve a big heroic score it should be each Avengers film

Yes, really, I noticed something that could mean something bigger! Why does The Amazing Spider-Man have the MARVEL STUDIOS LOGO (Well, the one used in Avengers, Iron Man 3 and the Thor 2 trailers)?
