"One year after the death of his friends, Fred Jones returns to Crystal Cove looking for Shaggy Rogers, when the two meet Shaggy is reluctant to go anywhere with Fred until Fred reveals a horrifying truth to him, all the people in masks that they 'caught' weren't just people in masks.. hell they weren't even human. The series will follow the two boys on the hunt for everything that they didn't stop with the help of a certain friend (who has expertise in the supernatural) Vincent Van Ghoul."

Above is a brief description for our upcoming series; expected to start filming in the next 3 months hopefully!!! Here is our very brief trailer to hopefully get some buzz around it so we'll have some viewers when it comes out.

We'll be unveiling some surprises in the next few weeks when we announce our cast & show off our new posters! I hope you guys will be interested and I'll add the links to our previous articles regarding the show so any of you, who missed it can catch up.

We also plan to show off some really cool stuff as the clock ticks down till the trailer with certain glimpses into the show and some BTS pics \ videos with our cast, whom we are extremely pleased with and hope you will be too! If you read the briefs on our characters, their casting shouldn’t surprise you!

UPDATE!! Hello Again! As you can see we're coming to you with a different name; we are now MotionPicture Films; we decided upon the change of image when we branched out and made some new acquaintances; we now have five writers, two episode and trailer editors and an FX editor, not to mention the amount of great helpers and mentors we have helping us with our project and our future films and projects for the future! (I.e. some great ideas, like a Lovecraftian horror/noire film set in a Victorian church, a two-part mini series revolving around a man with no memory waking up in town where 99% of things are fine, but the other 1% is strange (dogs that don't bark, people always on the phone; but they never ring etc.) and our next big big project idea which we will be partnered with another amateur production company and that is our plans for a 4 season plan for a Spider-Man Online Fan Series)

First of all guys-

Great news is our props have been bought for the trailer; costumes are ready, we have experienced people for hair and make-up, special effects, extras and everything we hoped for! Thank god for Ayrshire College.

So once the trailer has had it's read-through with the entire ensemble, so everyone knows their roles and what needs done! And sadly, due to reasons which we won't mention to embarrass anyone.. we are still waiting on our van! And we have considered many other methods of going about filming our scenes with the vans; we toyed with the idea of adding in a CGI Mystery Machine and filming the interior in a regular van as well as other ideas, but we decided that it is in the show's best interest to actually buy a van and have it styled like the Mystery Machine as it's probably the most obvious thing both Supernatural & Scooby Doo (Our Parent Shows) have in common is the iconic vehicles! And due to the fact the actual series would depend on the van on various occasions we have seen no other options, we apologise because we were hoping to have started filming by now, but we believe we will start in the week of the October holidays (10-17th) Anyone who has tried making a production of a bigger scale in hopes to make a lot of fan's happy and hopefully show off what we can do.

Okay, now that the business stuff is over with we can get onto showing off our posters, casting decisions etc etc!

1/ Casting

We have officially cast the majority of the roles! All of the cast have very happily decided to do this free of charge in order to keep all of our funding for our project:

So here is our official casting sheet as it stands, so far. With many characters still to be signed on, ie Velma, Vince etc; the contracts will be signed this Tuesday because for the time being they have signed on for the teasers, at least 4 trailers; and the first two episodes; S1x01 Pilot & S1x02 Praying for Arkham. But it's very safe to say that they will be agreeing for our idea for a two season run of around 42 episodes which will hopefully run from 2015, funding permitted:

Calvin P.J Ferries - Norville “Shaggy” Rogers
Davis Cameron - Fred Jones
Frank Welker - Scooby Doo (Voice/Lifted from scenes from the animated series.. Will be credited)
Garry Hamill - The Haitian Zombie
Gordon James Borland - Doctor Richard Coffin
Robert Weatherston - The Creeper
Shannon McCollum - Daphne Blake

Steven McKee - , who we are very lucky to have will be directing our first few episodes and will be participating with the editing and writing process throughout and will hopefully direct many more!

As you know we only intend for the show to run 2 full seasons, which is significantly shorter than both Scooby Doo & Supernatural. But we feel there are only a limited amount of options we have and we decided that ending that has been chosen for the show, is the perfect send off for our characters. But that's a while away so without any more rambling here is:

A few casting photo's the kind of which you would see in a fan cast on this here website ComicBookMovie

Below is our main protagonist himself; Shaggy Rogers

Shaggy will be played by the very talented Calvin Ferries; who has agreed to play Shaggy for the foreseeable future, as you will obviously point out Shaggy is not wearing his costume in the pic below; he is actually dressed up for an annual cosplaying convention where he was modelling as a character from the novels Death Note and this was the best picture I could find of him that wasn't from the production stills!

Calvin was the best of the candidates we had to portray our lead character not only was he extremely excited to work for the role, he has been extremely helpful in bringing the Shaggy we are hoping for; at this point in time Calvin has a very thin frame which is perfect for the flashback scenes; but he and Davis will be under a strict regiment which they have both started and will be undergoing a lot of heavy weight lifting through the help of a few very helpful guys at our local body building gym.

Calvin is at the moment 18 years old which is basically a pretty perfect age for the starting point for our interpretation of Shaggy! Because he will be able to play the iconic Shaggy in the flashbacks (which will be pre-recorded) and as time goes on he will be able to show off his chops as the older Shaggy much more akin to the way you'd see a younger Sam Winchester in the early seasons of Supernatural! As most of you will know Shaggy Rogers in the Scooby Doo series was around 16/17 years old making him the oldest in the gang and Sam was 22 in the first season of Supernatural, which would mean if our show runs it's course like we hope Calvin will be 20-ish!

Our seconds piece of casting is a character who is older than Fred was in the Scooby Doo mythology, but due to the fact we have a much younger main cast (the villains will be played by fully matured actors) but we thought casting them the ages they were in the original series is pivitol because we find that the show's theme is basically seeing that the horrible circumstances that have made these young men drastically change their lives will lead on to seeing them become men, in a way much different to the rites of passage for most young men.. For example, you wouldn't expect most young men to chop the head off a rugaru on a regular basis, that's much more likely to be something a teenage girl would do.. I kid kid.

Fred Jones

Anyway! You may or may not realise that this name is familiar as Davis was the person who came up with the original concept for Mystery Inc. (Which he originally named Scoobynatural face-palm, a big thanks to RedHood13 for saving our asses on that one) and had the plan for the series, after much deliberation and a lot of pushing from Gordon and others among our humble little group, We decided that Davis should play the character of Fred, because well, he's had experience along with the rest of us, he knows the story and he knows exactly what kind of pain Fred is going through, basically his identity crisis after losing Daphne and basically losing the life he knows!

Davis originally wanted to strictly take a role behind the scenes and focus on cinematography and get the vision of the show he foresaw, but after plenty of promo shots and a lot of convincing he decided that he will be our show's Fred, hopefully for the entire series. But he made the decision that he will only play the character if it's what the people interested in watching the show will want.

Here:

we have a picture that Davis posted on his Instagram page of him in the costume for the flashback scenes which he admitted to absolutely love, other than the extremely itchy wig! We feel taking a leaf out the original shows book and have the original looks but with a twist; and by the way yes! Fred will wear his patented Ascot in the flashback scenes this picture was taken before the Ascot was bought.

Furthermore we have some comparison shots of both Davis & Calvin (doing their promo shots and costume tests) next to their animated and Supernatural counterparts, so you can get a little taste of what to expect when our show hits the web!

Here first of all we have Calvin in his shape right now; (note these are only test photos, so this is not the shape you will see them when the show airs on Youtube; hopefully at some point in January 2014.)

So as you can see Calvin is here in all his Shaggy looking glory in a very creepy old tunnel located in Ayr, alongside a picture of Shaggy from the Mystery Incorporated animated series and Sam Winchester in season 1 of Supernatural.

And his trusty companion you see below is Davis looking a bit more like the Dean, the fans are familiar with than he did in the previous shot (as we have mentioned; many, many times) Fred will only appear blonde in the flashback scenes, he ashamed of looking in the mirror shaved off his dyed blonde hair and went for a darker look.

Davis seen here wearing a blue shirt similar to the ones Fred wore in the mid-1990s Scooby Doo films and the kind Fred would wear in Supernatural.

Anyway that's it for casting!!

2/ Secondly we have here a few location shots we have been getting in order to get prepared!

Vasquez' Castle

First thing we thought was; we want to film places that are similar to the original Scooby Doo show while keeping the dark tone of the series, but by doing this we had to make a few decisions.

Below we have the iconic Vasquez castle from the opening of the Scooby Doo where are you series! Which will be filmed at Ardeer Parish Church! Yes not quite a castle but due to it's surrounding area; the fact that the interior is a completely old school interior (Wooden panel walls, and an abandoned bell tower area that leads on to an area upstairs with a view of the church that isn't for use to the church members.

I know you are probably thinking that it just looks like your run of the mill church, but when the sun goes away and when the lights go off inside, it's a totally different place and will provide a great setting for the scenes it is required for!

Plus it helps that there might be a way I can get us a key so we can film at night, but we will need to put up some signs and let the people of the surrounding area know, so that we don't get arrested for breaking and entering and/or shot...

The second of which is: “The Harum Scarum Sanatorium!!!”

src="http://media.bestlittlesites.com/images/users/uploads/13402/int asylum.png" />

We were hoping to achieve the perfect look for the sanatorium, so we were hoping to film in an abandoned psychiatric hospital which is a little while away; known as Ravenspark Asylum, which unbeknownst to us was knocked down two years (Sadly) and recent news indicates that their were bodies found below it; which could have been due to the fact that it was used during the war and it's very likely that the people that passed away were just buried there, but it certainly caused quite a stir to find that the team digging up the earth found the bodies, which coincidently in our show was decided that Doctor Coffin would bury his 'patients' after lobotomisation!

After realising that there was no way we could film in a psychiatric hospital that was still open we decided to go elsewhere to try and achieve our look for the show; we stumbled across an area in Stevenston. Down past an old industrial estate which sadly is gated and barricaded for some reason. But it is genuinely perfect for filming because it is still in stable condition and it has bars on the windows (Which is odd, considering the rumours are that it's an abandoned bus depot, lot of security to keep people in a bus depot, but then again it could just be that the security was to stop people from breaking in and or vandalising the property.

But due to the fact that the doors and closed and the area is surrounded we thought it would be best to only use the building for exterior shots and the interior will be filmed in a composite of two places; some of the shots will be filmed in a nearby area known as “The Africa House” an establishment shut down years ago where local people for years have went because of how creepy it looked, after visiting it in the past we agreed that it's a great spot for some of the scenes, but due to the lack of size it isn't convincing enough to be a large mental asylum so we decided that it would be a good idea to split the filming into two locations; The Africa House and an area quite a bit away known as “The Dead Heart of Ayrshire” given this name due to the belief that the area was left to rot because there was no money being funded into the area; this place just screams creepy.

If the name didn't convince you the pictures should, we feel that combined with the other interior and exterior areas and if you don't mind me saying “a damn fine, script”, should work with Supernatural's consistent record of having great settings to fit along with their great episodes.

Hopefully in our next post we will have pictures of Crystal Cove, Gatorsburg, Moonscar Island etc and other important locations Shaggy & Fred reach on their road-trip essentially throughout the show, so that we've got more to show you guys but regrettably we haven't finished all of our location scouting for the entire show we are only focusing on the extended trailer and the early episodes of season 1, but the locations will be fully scouted for season 1 by December we hope, rather than us all looking from place to place we should really get someone to find us areas around where we can film and then we can go over them as a group when all meet (Usually at least 3 times a week, Steven is the only exception as he has other things on his plate but he will still be able to join us to direct at least a good chunk of the episode as well as being in charge of the soundtrack to fully meet the season 1 episode guide!

3/ Easter Eggs!

All the way throughout the show's run we intend to have a massive amount of easter eggs whether it's a reference or whether it's in the actual shot; for example there is a scene in the pilot where a young boy wears a Top Cat t-shirt as he watches in awe as the mystery machine pulls up, and another example is when Fred nicknames The Pre-historic neanderthal figure "Captain Caveman" A reference to another Hanna-Barbera series!

But a recurring theme to keep an eye out for is definetly characters from various Cartoon Network shows making small appearances for example; a real life former CIA agent, field operative and adventurer turned movie star's poster hangs on Shaggy's wall; The poster is for a fictional upcoming film called "Hidden" (A nod to the revenge thriller Taken), starring Race Bannon in the lead role; Bannon will never actually make an appearance in the show but he is mentioned a good few times and his poster, and anyone who knew the plans for the real life Johnny Quest movie that went wrong will know who was signed on to play Mr. Race Bannon...

And Secondly, a favourite film of Fred (And No, it isn't a Vincent Van Ghoul Movie..) Is of course JJ. Hakimoto's Raise The Dead starring the iconic B movie actor: Hoss Delgado (Hoss Delgado; a character from CN's show The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy) makes an appearance as a poster on a wall outside a movie theatre which excites Fred because the only thing Fred loves more than making traps is Hoss Delgado. (And Of-course anyone who watched The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy will know that the character is based on Ash from the Evil Dead series so...)

I know they aren't the best manips by any of sense; but there only for a bit of fun and to give the real hardcore geeks a little giggle. So enjoy!

4/ Posters

Finally guys, we've came to the end of our update but here is our new posters for the upcoming show! They don't need a lot of introducing essentially, but here is our first poster! We have a promo shot of Davis & Calvin (Calvin isn't in his proper costume here; due to the fact there was a scheduling conflict but this is just to give an idea of the tone!) More to come soon, so hope you enjoy guys we're doing this for y'all so we really hope you don't hate it!

Have a great day, whatever you're doing and be safe guys!
