Back on the 21st of July 2012, a group of Las Vegas film makers uploaded a short film to YouTube based on Nightwing.
The responds they got from the short was over whelming!
The short got over half a million views and plenty of well deserved thumbs up.

Currently the original short sits at 1,698,884 views, but that'll go up after you check it out below.

The film isn't bad for three nights of filming and a small crew and no budget, but ultimately this short film would lead to something special for Danny Shepherd and Jeremy Lee, and all us Nightwing fans!

The two talented film makers decided that they would only make a sequel IF they could make it look like something out of Hollywood, and luckily enough for them a studio based in Las Vegas put up their hands and offered to help with the series. With a studio willing to help the guys jumped over to Kickstarter and asked for donations to help make their dream of bringing Nightwing to the screen once more a reality.

The campaign was asking for $20,000 to secure resources that weren't available to them from the studio; and the responds that the project received was amazing!

$34,495 with 923 backers.

With the goal smashed and studio willing to help out it should have been smooth sailing, but like everything that seems to good to be true, it was. There was plenty of pot holes in the road, making what should have been a simple filming project into something a lot harder and stressful than what it should have been.

The attached director left, for another filming project to further their own career,
The script had to be rewritten and a new director had to be found.
As the search for the director began and scheduling with studios was being organised, the guys made sure they stayed busy.
Jeremy worked tirelessly on what could be the best Nightwing costume out there, along with a menacing Deathstroke helmet and an improved Red Hood costume.

And they also worked on this short and sweet project which got plenty talking in geeky forums.

Eventually a talented director was found and the shoot went a head once scheduling with an unpaid crew and cast was sorted.
The result of the tireless shoot was not 3 episodes like the kickstarter campaign intended originally, but more episodes, each released weekly exclusively onto their YouTube channel.

Below is a link to the first episode, watch it and share it with your friends and family and other comicbook lovers, the first two episodes are a set up of the Nightwing world, whilst episode three shows kicks off the action of the series.

I'm glad to of backed this project and seen the guys push past all the obstacles that got in their way, from a short film that cost nothing made over a period of three nights to this a, a series about my favourite DC Character Dick Grayson.

They may take some liberties with certain characters, but like all adaptations there are something that work well in print and not on screen.
Sit back, enjoy the three episodes that are up already.
Be sure to subscribe to their channel and give them a like of Facebook to stay up to date with whats happening, fingers crossed that the responds that they get from this series helps them boost their own careers in film making AND gets us a second series.

Thanks for sticking by me with this article guys.
Share your thoughts below about what you thought about the series.

Peace

@DCGuy I hadn't seen an article on here about this since they started releasing it online weekly, so I thought I'd share it for others to see and to hear their thoughts.
