Superman:
Fade In:

Int: train- Day

Waiting for a train to take off we meet a young man, early twenties; short black hair this man is CLARK KENT.

Martha Kent (O.S.):

I still don’t understand why you’re taking the train when you can---

Clark Kent (V.O.):

Flying is too fast, mom.

Looking out of the window as the train travels towards the city.

Clark Kent (V.O.):

I want this to take time, I want--- I need time to think.

Martha Kent (V.O.):

You’ve had years to think about this Clark.

Clark Kent (V.O.):

I know mom, but this is different, this is real.

Arriving in the city, Clark exits the train to arrive in Metropolis.

Cut to:

Int: Metropolis Hotel- Dusk

Clark arrives at a hotel for a room.

Landlord (O.S.):

So how long you figure on staying Mr. Kent?

Clark:

Don’t know yet.

Landlord:

I can get ya a lower rate if you plan on staying at least a month.

Clark:

Don’t know yet

Landlord:

So you’re saying you don’t know yet?

Clark:

I don’t know.

Landlord:

You plan on attending Metropolis University?

Clark:

Not really, I graduated from Smallville junior college this past November. That’s as far as I’m planning at the moment.

Landlord:

Ah, my son Eddie graduated from Metro JC two years ago. Figured he didn’t need to go any further either, he works part-time at Arby’s down the street.

The landlord begins to make her exit to give Clark some privacy.

Landlord:

Well, you gotta decide what you wanna do with your life. Other people can’t decide for you. Let me know if you decide on staying or not.

Clark:

I will thank you.

Landlord:

Just be careful walking around these parts after dark.

Cut to:

Ext: Metropolis streets- Night

Clark walks a few blocks passing restaurants and down a dark alley.

Thug:

Hey

Approaches Clark drawing his gun.

Thug:

Wallet, watch and phone now.

With his hood concealing much of his face Clark’s eyes begin to glow red.

Clark:

I think you should put the gun down and walk away. Right now.

Thug:

Oooh, scary contact lenses, big freakin deal. Now hand over the-

Clark’s eyes glow brighter as the gun begins glowing red, burning the thug’s hand until exploding.

Thug:

I’ll kill you, you son of a—where’d you go?

Looking up the thug is surprised to see that Clark has disappeared.

Fade to black:

Fade in:

Ext: Metropolis Stadium- Day

Coach:

Just be patient, we’ll run through the general tryouts and work closely with our potential picks tomorrow and Wednesday. The important thing is to remember that if our scouts liked you enough to send you here then you may have what it takes. We’ll go in order of who showed up first on the roster. Okay? Kent Clark!!

Clark:

Here

Coach:

Kent Clark, where the hell are you?

Clark:

Over here

Camera pans towards the players revealing Clark to be out sized by every player on the field.

Coach:

You’re Kent Clark?

Clark:

Clark Kent, yes

Coach:

You sure you don’t have a brother?

Clark:

Not as far as I know.

The coach turns away in embarrassment.

Coach:

Doesn’t make any damn sense, Pender’s my best scout and he says you’re the best he’s seen. He might as well have sent me a pin needle. Says here you play receiver, defensive tackle, safety, quarterback, halfback and running back.

Looks towards his other coaches on the field.

Coach:

Never took Pender for a drinking man before.

Clark:

I’m here, may as well see if he is right, what do you have to lose?

Coach:

Did you sign the injury waiver?

Clark:

Yes.

Coach:

All right.

Clark and two more players take the field.

Coach:

All right Kent, don’t let them score.

Lineman:

You know if you just lie down we can pretend I put you down and it won’t hurt nearly as much.

Quarterback:

15, 27, 9 hut hut HUT!!!

With lightning quick speed Clark shakes the defensive lineman before he knows it, as the quarter back gets the ball out of his hand Clark extends his arm and snatches the ball for a touchdown.

Coach:

Okay let’s try receiver.

Quarterback:

HUT!!!

As Clark gets free the quarterback decides to over throw the ball, Clark notices and begins to speed up shaking his competition. Clark makes the catch and scores yet again.

Coach:

Okay now we’ll try Quarterback, but let the defensive tackles through and dogpile him, let’s see what happens then.

Clark:

Hut Hut Hut!!!

The players all attempt to tackle Clark, but Clark swiftly maneuvers all the tackles effortlessly, as if in slow motion.

Assistant:

Did you see that?

Coach:

I saw

Assistant:

But did you see---

Coach:

I saw it damn it, call the front office, get a contract here in a half hour.

Assistant:

But there is still another day of---

Coach:

Twenty nine minutes.

Assistant:

What should I tell them to use for numbers?

Coach:

Tell them to leave it blank, we’ll put in whatever he wants.

Assistant:

Right.

Coach:

Twenty eight minutes.

Assistant:

Right.

Coach:

Kent Clark, you and I need to talk.

Fade to black:

Fade in:

Int. Neodyne Industries- Day

CEO:

We really aren’t hiring any interns or trainees at the moment.

Clark:

I’m not applying to be a trainee; I’m applying for applied research and development.

CEO:

Uh-huh, Mr. Kent, Clark Neodyne Industries hires the top five graduates from Harvard, Yale and Princeton. They spend four years working in our labs before they get near the R&D door. The men on the other side of that glass represent the highest paid researchers on the planet; they share in patent revenues and design.

Clark:

What are they working on now?

CEO:

One of our highest priorities for the last decade has been coming up with a way to derive electricity directly from salt and water. They tell me we are two equations away from figuring it out.

Clark:

How long have they been working on these last two equations?

CEO:

About three years. The gaps are noticed on the big screen from the other room. Why?

Picking up a pen off of the CEO’s desk, Clark begins writing formulas on a piece of paper.

Clark:

Walk in and give this to them.

CEO:

Mr. Kent. Really, I---

Clark:

Just give it to them and I’ll leave happily.

CEO:

All right, all right, this’ll take just a moment.

Clark watches as the CEO enters the room. He approaches the two men and hand them the piece of paper. The men look over the formula and one enters the data on the large computer overhead. After a few seconds the screen reads success and the men begin to celebrate as the CEO exits the room.

CEO:

Mr. Kent.

Clark:

Yes.

CEO:

Don’t move from that spot; whatever you do just don’t leave.

its good, but maybe because it's verbatim from the book. Try and add something new. Elements that wouldn't work in the books to really add a unique feeling for Earth One.

i have a few actually, i tried to stay as close as i can to it's source. i'm taking out the ship part bcuz i don't think it'll work in a movie and have a twist for my ending.

Redhood2k10 this is good. The formatting is off by a millimeter but it's still okay. I love earth one and hope to read the rest of the script, but try to stay off of the every single word must be the same approach.

i was really just adapting. i wanted to see how i could handle the format and thought Earth One was good enough to get adapted. As far as original ideas i am currently writing a Green Lantern screenplay.
