Does the Man of Steel appear in the Dark Knight movie poster?

This is not actually my story it is infact one i read in a french newpaper and i thought itt needed mentioning on this site.
This is the photo of the new movier poster advertising next years Batman release and it would seem that, according to lexpress.fr, this image is causing a stir in the comic book fan community due to the questionable rock which looks vaguely like the superman shield.
I myself am not truly convinced that this does mean the Man of Steel will be making an appearance and i do infact think that the supposed "shield" is nothing more than falling debris. Thoughts?

It's more than likely a coincidence.
And if that rock was placed there to be ambiguous on purpose, I think it's more of a "shout-out" of sorts (for lack of a better phraze lol) and not a direct link.

No.

i've seen this all over the net, and its [frick]ing stupid.

i've seen people say this, i've seen people say they see Bane standing in one of the buildings, people saying the see question marks hinting at the Riddler being in this.

bottom line is people need to listen to what Nolan said. if its a Superman symbol, then so what? its not like he's in this movie. Nolan has already said that his bat-films, and Man of Steel will take place in their own worlds, with no other heroes. he has also said he will never use the Riddler.

so why would he turn around and do it in his last film?

people see what they want to see, and thats all there is to this stupidity.

I love the idea of Clark Kent appearing in The Dark Knight Rises but only as a reporter there to do an article on whats been happening in Gotham. I don't want him to appear as the Man of Steel and I don't want him in costume or even a reference to Superman.

Oh, my thoughts? Pointless [frick]ing article... can't believe you did this. It's a piece of falling debris. Jeez.

That is uncanny. They're obviously not real rocks. Someone's done that on a computer. Whoever did it was not Chris Nolan and has probably not even seen the finished film and has probably not read the script and probably doesn't know anything more about the film than us fans. So even if it is intentional (like R2D2 in the JJ Abrams Star Trek), then it means nothing about the content of the film.
There are three rocks next to the Super-rock. The top one is the Spider-Man logo, the middle one is The Flash logo and the bottom one is the Wonder Woman logo. Seriously. Take a look.

I'm not the only one to think it's just debris then! If it wasn't for the fact that it was pointed out to me i never would have thought anything of the random rock. But either way in my mind it is still nothing but a random rock.

If you look at the top corner on the left, Alfred can be seen through the window. He's taking a crap...

I can see how it looks like it, but that's definitely a rock. There's no reason for them to hide something like that. If there was any tie-in to Superman and they wanted to advertise it, they would focus on that in the poster.

it is purposly shaed that way, likewise with the lightning bolt at the top, ambiguous enough to build hype and get people's interests.

Like CDB said, even if it is a shield, it doesnt mean it or anything remotely relate to it will be in the movie.

to be honest this poster looks fan made.
