The DC Cinematic Universe: Phase One

The first phase in the DC Cinematic Universe is, like Marvel's, the most important, and they shouldn't overcrowd it with too many heroes or unnecessary bullshit. Anyway, let's begin.

Being a big Marvel fan, I was overjoyed with the way the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Say what you want, but aside from Iron Man 2 each lead up film to the Avengers was amazing and the Avengers itself as the grand pay-off with a climax that was essentially an orgasm for the fans.

Still not happy with X-Men, Spider-Man, Daredevil and Fantastic 4 being slaves to other companies, but whatever. So. with All the talk of the DC Cinematic Universe, I got interested and looked up DC and even though Warner Bros. APPEAR to be doing everything wrong and making everything go to shit, this is how I think the DC Cinematic Universe should go:

1) MAN OF STEEL

There is little point saying what I want, or what I think should happen, what will be, will be. So that said, I am highly anticipating this film. Looks amazing, and even though people whine about it being dark, I disagree. Clark Kent may be struggling, but from Comic-Con, it looks like the Man of Steel will remain a beacon of hope for humanity.

And have a post-credits scene, either being a nod to Wonder Woman, Batman, the CBI (DCCU's version of SHIELD), or an impending threat).

2) THE AMAZON/IAN

To keep it consistent, might as well do this with all of 'em. Oh incase you didn't figure it out, this is Wonder Woman. Anyway, I would keep her her origin mainly the same, with tweaks here and there. But not Ares as the villain, this guy needs build up in my opinion. I am indecisive about the villain. It is either between Circe (the DC Loki) or Dark Angel (Let's ignore the Donna Troy stuff).

I'm leaning towards Dark Angel. Wonder Woman hasn't got a great rouges gallery from what I have observed, unlike her other DC counterparts and Marvel characters, so to me, it was down to only three good ones. Casting, not going into that, but I don't want Gina Carano near this film. "Oh, she can fight, [frick] the stunt doubles" "She's tall".

I say get a good, very pretty actress, athletic build who, in a perfect world, is actually Greek or Mediterranean. I would however keep Ares in the backdrop, and use concepts from the new 52. Like I say this one panel with these horses having severed heads and from the stumps grew bloody, vicious looking, demonic top halfs of a man... Centaurs. Interesting.

Post credit scene. Not sure, perhaps a nod to the next film in phase 1, or a nod to a plot element in the Justice League film.

3) THE EMERALD KNIGHT/SOLDIER

Now to be fair, as an individual series, the first Green Lantern film could be salvaged and turned into something great. But as apart of the DCCU and a lead in to the Justice League? [frick] no, keep this film AWAY and reboot the bastard. They screwed up a lot, including Amanda Waller.

Anyway, not to sound boring, but I want it to be Hal Jordon (boo all you want, I'd gladly include John Steward in phase 2, in fact, I would if I was DC/WB). Now, for the villain, we need a good one. Sinestro needs build up, well, more build up than a shitty post credits scene. I'd say Atrocitus. Look at the guy, would you screw with that? No. Now, the origin can remain the same, except, keep most of the damn thing on Oa or space. And explore the Guardians some more.

From what I gather they are all manipulative bastards doing whatever they can to protect the Universe, though in effect, they are a threat to it themselves. Also explore the relationship between Hal and Sinestro. Show Sinestro slowly starting to respect Hal as more than the guy that "stole" Sur's ring. Include the other lovable Lanterns like Kilowog, have an evil Atrocitus, good relationships, development and build up to the Corps War, and you could completel redeem Green Lantern's reputation as far as films go.

Post credits scene; the CBI starting to form the Justice League from after a small attack on Earth via Atrocitus.

4) THE BATMAN/GOTHAM'S KNIGHT/THE DARK CRUSADER

Personally I like The Dark Crusade best, but whatever. Anyway, Batman's been done to death recently so I'll make it brief... keep the origin brief. Include Leslie Thompkins, show Batman is ACTUALLY a detective who solves shit in his own time, do a better Batcave, have the vibe of Arkham City and the Animated Series, show Batman can make very dry humour at times and not merely growl, cast Fassbender, references to Superman.

As for villains, I'm stuck. Black Mask, Penguin, Killer Croc, Mr. Freeze. So many great villains that can be done well as demonstrated by Arkham City that didn't name it into the "realistic" Nolanverse. Oh, and include Nightwing, maybe some flashbacks to his days as Robin.

5) WORLD'S FINEST

Superman vs. Batman, [frick]ing historic I tell you. Anyway, you know the World's Finest arc in the Superman Animated Series. I would include Lex in this one, and maybe the Joker, perhaps have him in Arkham in the Batman film, for the Man of Steel and the Dark Knight to fight. The story will write itself. Two most iconic Superheroes in history working together and having a skirmish at one point? Yeah, the tickets sell from the very concept.

Post credits scene: the CBI realising the new threat approaches.

6) JUSTICE LEAGUE

Frankly I am stuck here. I know what I want for the Justice League 3 arc in phase 4, but here, I am stuck. Villain, not sure. Zod, Brainiac, Sinestro? So many good choices for the League to fight. Secondary? White Martians, Parademons? Not idea how to do this one guys, sorry, but here, you decide for yourself.

ANYWAY, that is how I would like phase 1, comment, lemme know what you think. Phase 2 on it's way.

^Exactly. DC pulled an impulsive one when they saw how much if a beast THE AVENGERS was at the box office, and thought of a quick cash grab. Its just clear that WB really doesnt give a shit about their DC properties unless its Batman and Superman.

one of my favorite things about what Marvel is doing is them not making a hulk spin off. it would be a pure cash grab and dosent fit into their longer term plans so they arent doing it. rather then make a movie that is going to be sub par or disrupt the larger story that they are trying to tell they are being patient. thats not to say that they wont make a hulk movie further down the line, they just arent rushing something just to makemoney. that shows fantastic patience and more then that, discipline by marvel.

Get your head out of your arse, Soto and stop being an idiot. I have little faith in Warner Bros. but this is how I would LIKE it to turn out, or similar. Oh well, time to kill myself now.

*eyeroll* Read my comment on your article. Besides, I didn't think someone would be so anal about something so minor.
