Hamm is absolutely perfect for DKR Superman. I literary can't think of any one better.

Carla Gugino as Selina Kyle



Gugino is a Rodriguez regular and she played a similar role in Watchmen.

Rob Zombie as The Mutant Leader



Zombie would be fun cameo from another film-maker.

Peter Weller as Harvey Dent



Weller is a great actor who looks just like DKR Dent.

Malcolm McDowell as Alfred Pennyworth



McDowell fits well with the B Movie aesthetic I'd want this film to have.

Alison Pill as Carrie Kelly



Pill is just perfect for Carrie Kelly!

Bruce Willis as James Gordon



When looking through RR regulars there was really no other choice. His role in 16 Blocks is a good indicator of what his Gordon would be like.

Nicolas Cage as The Joker



Cage's brand of "Mega-Acting" would be great for DKR Joker! Castor Troy meets his Bad Lieutenant role!

And drum roll...

Danny Trejo as Batman / Bruce Wayne!



The reason I made this cast. Trejo is really the one choice for a Robert Rodriguez directed Dark Knight Returns. He's the right age, can still convincingly kick ass and definitely has the attitude. I wouldn't even have him shave his mustache.

At first I thought Cage was a negative for Joker, but then I thought about it more and he is a definite maybe, lol. He can act pretty crazy, in fact that kind of his trademark. But I do think he has a tendency to go a little over the top as villains. He certainly would not likely deliver an oscar worthy performance. And I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering.... Trejo as Batman? That has got to be the oddest choice I've ever heard. What's the inspiration there?

Dumb idea for anything ever! Seems like lots of wasted time for a film that should NEVER be handled by a Tarantino sized hack of a film maker. Danny Trejo? Rob Zombie? WTF?? I see what you were going for here, but the entire idea is a fail!

Lol not sure if ur being serious or not dude, but overall not a bad cast; they all seem a bit young for their respective roles 2 me, but not bad, everything was running smooth till Trejo lol...
Anyway, if u got the chance, hope u can check out my fan casts!

I liked the cast until Trejo, I love the guy but he should be Bane not Batman.

for Batman I would cast Ed Harris.

Liked everyone in this except for Danny Trejo. Mutant Leader should be MCD. And as for Batman, I think Mickey Rourke or Kurt Russell would be good picks.

Nicholas cage should never ever try to be the joker. Also Danny Trejo for Batman? I dont think i am seeing that. The rest of the cast wasn't bad at all except i dont like Malcolm McDowell for Alfred, i have seen him cast in the role many times and just dont like it.

In my opinion Alfred is almost harder to cast than even bats. He is such a small but incredibly important to the batman mythos.

@nowtheresaBATman Michael Keaton is a must for a Dark Knight Returns Bats. Jim Caviezel is a good pick for an older Bats.

Trejo is the perfect Frank Miller Batman. Old, beaten down, a little crazy, has a mustache sometimes and can still kick your ass.

I like everyone except for Joker & Batman. I would go with Willem Dafoe for Joker and Clive Owen as Batman (who can be made to look a little older). Also I can understand why you picked Trejo to get that look of someone who has been beat down over some extreme situations. If that is what you are going for, I would go for Mickey Rourke instead as that is pretty much his life story.
