Well, I would change the font, something like this might work:
http://www.dafont.com/slayer.font?text=Dr+Fate
http://www.dafont.com/epistolar.font?text=Dr+Fate

And the background should be something different IMO, like this:

Thanks man I will def look into but something f'ed up on my computer and it didn't save the psd only the jpeg so I have no way of going back and editing it and the reason I chose the Font was if you go and look at the Dr.Fate Logo from the Comics it has an oriental feel so I was trying to keep that motif going but I completely see what ur talking about with the background and believe me if I could go back and change it I would
