First the plot would have to be centered around the Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos story line and major parts of The Lord of the Clans novel. Basically it will focus on two main characters, Arthas and Thrall, and cut back and forth between each of their stories. The film will begin with Blackmoore finding baby Thrall in the forest. The first half will be the rise of Arthas and Thrall's story, his escape from Blackmoore's fighting pits and his meeting with Doomhammer, Doomhammer's death. The second half will focus on the fall of Arthas and his murdering of his father, followed by Thrall returning to Blackmoore's keep and killing the man and finally Arthas' ascension to the Lich King. The film will end with Arthas sitting on the frozen throne.
First, our Director:
Guillermo Del Toro
Not only is Del Toro a fantastic director but he has the most amazing team of special effects experts who could easily bring the incredible beings of Warcraft, such as the Orcs and Night Elves to life. He uses the most effective blend of puppetry, suits and CGI that would make the film very believable.
I would imagine the Orcs done in bulky suits with the actors faces motion captured and made more rugged but still similar and placed on the suits.
The night elves would just have a ton of prosthetics. The tauren would be a large hybrid of animatronics/CGI.
And now our cast:
Alexander Skarsgard as Arthas Menethil/The Lich King
This guy just screams Arthas to me, he is also a very talented actor.
Hakeem Kae-Kazim as the Voice of Thrall
Anybody who has ever played Halo Reach will recognize this guys voice as Jorge. He did incredible voicework and his voice in that game reminds me exactly of how Thrall should sound. Deep, yet kind.
Zoe Saldana as Tyrande Whisperwind
She's absolutely gorgeous and with the right prosthetics she would steal the part.
Sean Bean as Uther the Lightbringer
The ONLY choice that came to mind for this role! He's perfect!
Idris Elba as the Voice of Orgrim Doomhammer
Great actor, has a very commanding voice! i think he would own the part.
Matthew Fox as Malfurion Stormrage
The Stormrage brothers were the hardest parts to cast, i found. I don't know why, i think it was because i wanted them to have a brotherly feel, two actors that look like they could be brothers but still have distinctive looks. Fox i felt would be the perfect Malfurion to, the one and only,
Josh Holloway as Illidan Stormrage
I know its somewhat of a longshot, but i thought they could pull it off pretty well.
Ron Perlman as Magni Bronzebeard
Ron Perlman. Nuff said haha
Jeffrey Dean Morgan as the voice of Grom Hellscream
I think he could bring an interesting take to Grom, he's a very good actor and one of my personal favorites.
Christopher Lee as the voice of Cairne Bloodhoof
I wanted an elderly actor with a very peaceful and kind voice. Christopher Lee was perfect i thought.
Evangeline Lilly as Jaina Proudmoore
Lovely, lovely lady. Would be a perfect Jaina.
John Hurt as King Terenas Menethil
Perfect casting. Hurt is an amazing actor.
Jackie Earle Haley as the voice of Kel'Thuzad
Creepiest ass voice in the world haha he would be a very great Kel'Thuzad
Rufus Sewell as Aedelas Blackmoore
Love this guy in A Knight's Tale, i think that character and this one are very similar.
Bryce Dallas Howard as Taretha Foxton
Thrall's love interest, BDH is super fine. Thought she would do great!
