WWC: WORLD WAR CASTLE
BY DOUG DUDLEY

PROLOGUE

Frank remained crouched, staring with a dead face, never taking his eyes off for one second from his elevated viewpoint atop the high roof as the man stood up in the slowly moving van, waving to the crowds of screaming people. Hypocrites, Frank thought, they scream wildly whenever they see him, drunk on their own excitement, yet they criticize every move he makes when away from him. Part of Frank thought that even if they did know what he did, the sins he had committed, the innocence he had stripped her of, they still would rejoice that they were in his presence. But it didn’t matter what they thought; only the facts mattered, only that mattered to Frank. He had seen the little girl’s body, what he’d done to her. He didn’t care what would happen, the upheaval his actions would create. Yes, only the facts mattered. He couldn’t afford to opinionate the situation. Opinions block the senses. Opinions prevent the righteous actions from being taken. Opinions lie.
Frank was disgusted by the very sight of him. “Ladies and gentlemen, the President of the United States,” the megaphone announced, barely heard over the ever increasing cries of fake excitement. But Frank didn’t see the President stepping out of his limousine, approaching the top of the stairs towards the podium at the top of the Lincoln Memorial. Frank saw a sick, pathetic, cock sucking mother[frick]er climbing those steps, smiling with his arrogant grin waving to the entire idiotic crowd, proud in the fact that no one knew what he’d done, that everyone was blind and deaf to it. Everyone, but him. Everyone but the one person who needed to know, the one person who would stand to punish him. The one who would deliver true justice to that bastard.
There wasn’t an ounce of fear in Frank’s mind. Not one ounce. He had done this for the prime of his adult life, repeating it hundreds, thousands of time. Each one thought they were invulnerable. They buy a glock, get a few idiots to stand behind them and they think they can get away with murder. And each and every [frick]ing one of them was wrong. And this one wasn’t going to be different. Frank put away the binoculars in his large black bag, and took out the silenced .50 cal sniper rifle. The man thought he was safe. There had been guards positioned atop every roof of every building. The garbage man is gonna have a lot of bodies to pick up in the dumpster tomorrow. He looked through the scope and centered it right in the middle of his forehead. “People of the United States,” the man began, “I am deeply honored to address this fine nation on the anniversary of our nation’s independence day.” 5. “You know, sometimes I wonder...” 4. “-what our forefathers, Washington…” 3. “-Edison, Jefferson, Lincoln…” 2. “-would have thought if they…” 1. “-knew America would- HUK!” The bullet passed beautifully through his brain.

If you have any questions or comments, please give them to me in the only place you can! And also look out for an upcoming series of rants called The Dude is Pissed Off! where I talk about certain things in comic book movies, characters, storylines and comics period that piss me off.

Ciao!

Sounds very cool man. Kind of reminded me of Shooter when it started. I would love to read what happens next.
