There have been various rumors relating to both big and small screen Red Sonja reboots doing the rounds for years, but Deadline now reports that Millennium Films plans on fast-tracking another movie version with a view to developing a new franchise.
“We have been waiting for the right time for this remake, and with the success of Wonder Woman, the audience has spoken. They want female heroes,” said Millennium's Avi Lerner.
The She-Devil with a Sword is probably best known for the 1985 movie with Brigette Nielson and Arnold Schwarzenegger, but more recently she's featured in a very successful Dynamite Entertainment comic book series, which has crossed over with Conan The Barbarian.
