THOR Star Jaimie Alexander Seemingly Teases A Role In Millennium's RED SONJA Reboot

Has Jaimie Alexander joined the cast of the upcoming Red Sonja reboot? That seems to be the case if an Instagram Story shared by the Thor and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. actress is any indication...

We recently learned that Ant-Man and the Wasp actress Hannah John-Kamen has signed on to play the titular warrior in Millennium's upcoming Red Sonja reboot, and it looks like Jaimie Alexander might be set to join her.

The Thor star, who is expected to reprise the role of Lady Sif in Taika Waititi's Love and Thunder, posted the following image to her Instagram stories. The first page of writer/director Joey Soloway's script would seem to be a not-so-subtle hint that Alexander has joined the cast, but this is the first we've heard of her potential involvement with the project.

If Alexander is set to appear in the film, there are several characters from the comics she could portray, including the "Red Goddess" Scathach and the villainous Dark Annisia. Sacha Baron Cohen (The Trial of the Chicago Seven, Borat) was reportedly offered the co-lead role of Kulan Gath, but that's yet to be confirmed.

Jaimie Alexander Red Sonja Movie Script

Red Sonja originally had Bryan Singer attached to direct before a slew of sexual assault allegations resulted in him being removed from the project. Soloway replaced him in 2019, and also penned the latest draft of the script along with Tasha Huo (Netflix's Tomb Raider anime series).

What do you guys think? This seems like a pretty clear indication that Alexander has joined the cast, but we'll be sure to keep you updated if there's an official announcement.

I'll just be glad when I see her in the MCU again.

@ModHaterSLADE - agreed. Real missed opportunity that they didn't use her in phase 3.

I know nothing about Red Sonja, but I do hope she returns as Sif (probably as some sort of universe-wide bounty hunter type after Ragnarok took her previous job away)

But not Red Sonja, she would have been perfect.

It bothers me that the script says “Based on the character created by Robert E. Howard”, because it’s not… at least not by that name, and not as a hyboreon age sword-swinging barbarian in a chainmail bikini. That was the creation of Roy Thomas and Barry Windsor Smith for Marvel Comics Conan adaptations.

Howard created a “Red Sonya” with a “Y” who was fighting (with guns) in 16th century Instanbul.
