Nispel To Replace Ratner On "Conan" Movie

German Director Markus Nispel will take over the reigns of the new "Conan The Barbarian" movie from Brett Ratner..

When news broke that Brett Ratner had been dropped(yay) from Lionsgates "Conan" movie, people wondered who, if anyone, would be his replacement.

Well, Over at CHUD they're reporting that their "impeccable source" has confirmed that Nispel has indeed signed on officially to take over the project. For those of you not familiar with Nispels work, Hes the man RESPONSIBLE for the Friday the 13th reboot. Before that he directed the Viking movie Pathfinder and the new The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake. Mmmmmm.



Hey, at least he handles the action scenes well! Lets give the bearded wonder a chance i say!

anyway i'm sure nispel would do a great job but he needs to work out his skills a little bit.

his horror remakes weren't bad but pathfinder(which has resemblance to conan) was utter garbage.

aww now why were the poor nipples of that first lady pixilated away Leee? Poor showing old chap.

Anyway, I know they've talking about a new Conan movie for ages so it's a good possibility this won't get made, but this has been the year for impossible movies. I mean who would have thought we'd ever get to see a watchmen movie?
Conan could happen. And you know, I just read a three part conan series done by Mike Mignola and I think he could write a good conan script.

Pathfinder was terribly bad. The first 15 minutes of that movie were amazing they almost felt that you could expect a synergy of 300 + Vikings and then the movie turned to mush.
Hes got some big shoes to fill if he wants to take on John Millius as a Director and Basil Poledaris as a composer those are very high marks to try and surpass.

Well, one way to look at it is that he can't do much worse than Ratner, so it's already in an upward direction. But they will fail in one department and that's with the films score.
With little dialogue in "Conan the Barbarian" the music carried most of the film, not to mention that every piece was just epic. It's arguably the second thing one remembers when they mention that film, Arnold being the first.

That picture of Nispel though - some brown face make-up and a black nose and he's the Wolfman DJ from "The Hilarious House of Frankenstein". Most of you won't know what that is but my fellow Canadians should.

An hey guys?, i loved PATHFINDER!!! I thought it was a great movie! Next you'll be saying you didn't love OUTLANDER both very original never before done films!!! Much better than that FRIDAY THE 13th Remake bollox lol! Though his CHAINSAW movie was good but that was before everyone an his dog was making Reboots/Remakes! Though, BIEL had something to do with that too, nice white T-shirt! ; )

Pathfinder sucked because of the script. It was lame as shit! But the filming was reminescent of Conan in a certain way so i'm not opposed to him as much as i would be to Ratner or [frick]ing Uwe Boll!!!

The Texas chainsaw reboots were good...Friday the 13th left me half limp....

I like this guys visual style so I think he can pull off a conan movie...

If this Conan movie is similar to Pathfinder, then it will have amazing photography, good acton sequences and poor script. 2/3 is not bad, just hire a good guionist.

Not enough! I'll give the bearded one credit for one thing, he kept Jessica's white wife-beater soakin we the whole Massacre movie. And she was RUNNIN! Gooooood times. I liked his TCM, haven't seen the rest but heard very bad things about them. Still better than Ratner.

Shaman--That pic of Biel is from Powder Blue. The movie will piss you off! I knew she was going to be nude in it so I downloaded it. I was like awwww yeah!!! Finally. But no, it is that most hated type of nudie movie. You can tell she wanted to do a sexy drama so there is a lot of side boob and camera cuts right when the full on rack is supposed to be swinging in your face.

And she's got problems and shit. It's not fun at all and is pretty painfull to watch. It really doesnt do her justice or my pants justice. It's like she's hot but her character is not and it seems like it's supposed to be a joke on the people that want to molest her.
