Latino Review is reporting that Stephen Lang has been offered the role of Khalar Singh in the new Conan movie.

Here is a Khalar Singh character discription from Latino Review...

Khalar Singh is in his 40s to 50s, Asian or Middle Eastern, Central Asian, Mongol, Turkish, or Persian, open to all ethnicity's; commanding in size and manner, a warlord and formidable warrior, brilliant, cruel, weathered and tanned by the many campaigns he has waged and won. He is driven in his quest to find the Queen of Acheron and has been building an empire to do so.

Personally, I don't see it as a good fit.

Do you think that Lang fits the above description?

Multi: LOL, thats what I thought also.

I found this photoshopped pic of Momoa while doing this article. I have not been a fan of Momoa and I know he doesn't have Conans size but this pic sure looks like the Conan I have been reading over the years.

Why is everyone so Shit-giddy over Lang? He's a terrible actor. I don't want him anywhere near the Cable role. That is, if were are lucky enough to see him on the screen.

Biehn would be ok, but I'm not sold on him either.

Lang can be awesome in certain roles but i just don't see him fit in to barbarian times. I like him as a psychopath. The Hard Way/Fire Down Below, now THOSE were roles for Lang!!! :)

But if they make Singh to be more than a mere barbarian warlord, meaning smart like Jones was as Doom, he could be a great villain for Conan. I'd just have to see it to believe it.

Ecks & Multi- I think Biehn is a much better choice for Cable than Lang but Mike's getting a bit old. I know he's supposed to be for the role but by the time he's ever included in a feature film, it could be too late.

For those who haven't seen this yet, this is what Biehn could look like as Cable:

[frick] LANG for CABLE! He's a great DEATHSTROKE!!!!

P.S. Get rid of STARGATE BOY and we might have a decent CONAN movie!! : P

P.S.S. BIEHN FOR CABLE!!!

LEEE- Right now, i'm a tad more worried about what's his pounded face from UFC than Mamoa. If Mamoa gets the build, i don't see how he could mess up Conan. He's not the "ideal" look now, but i'll wait till i see him in the trailer before bitching. I enjoy his fierceness. His DSLs aren't very barbaric though.

Lang doesn't seem right for this role but then no one they have cast yet seems right either so I guess they are right on course, LOL!

Tan him and give him a euro sorta look and he can pull it off... Look at Jake Gyl playing a Persian.

Not for nothing, but this Momoa kid is just as weak looking as Hemsworth in the build dept. He looks like a surfer with a swimmers body. F**k man couldn't they find a huge, talented guy to play Conan? I should have been a casting agent, it would be light years ahead of all these dumb f**ks in hollywood.

@ASSASSIN666 Dude, have you even SEEN Hemsworth lately? He's a freakin MONSTER. He's been bulking up the last several months and he's a GIANT now.

Also, no one in this movie (Conan) is a good fit for anything.

JLanphear- I'd love a picture of Chris as his new monster status cause i still haven't seen that. I don't doubt that he(as well as Mamoa) can get the girth but we just haven't seen it yet.

decent casting choice Stephen Lang had great performances in both Avatar (the only good one) and Public Enemies...he's an excellent actor and psychically intimidating..I think anyone is better James Earl Jones...great voice, horrible villain

Stephen Lang was perfect for Avatar!!! No for Conan villain or Cable!!!!!!!!!!!! John C. McGinley for Cable in a movie!!!! All he has to do is pump up a little bit, chomp on a cigar and he is perfect!!!!!!!!!!

Jason Momoa – The jury is still out on how good he will do. I’m 50-50 on this guy. I want him to do well.
Mickey Rourke – at least the first 15min of the movie will be good. He is hands down one of the greatest actors of the last 30yrs.
Bob Sapp – Got his ass beat by Jennifer Garner, brok-ed-ed-d his nose in the longest yard, and gets beat up by every MMA fighter under 220lbs. Shad Gasprd would have been better.
Stephen Lang – Could do good bc he was a bad mother in Avatar.

If I was Lang I would turn this down so
fast it would make their heads spin!
He's a decent actor! He doesn't need his
career sullied by doing this turkey!

He was great in PUBLIC ENEMIES!
That last scene where he tells Dillinger's
girlfriend what Dillinger said as he was
dying was awesome and made an absolutely
perfect ending to the movie!

OMG, Hawks@ that photoshopped pic you got
up there of Momoa with the wig made me laugh
so hard I think I pulled a stomach muscle!
He looks like this lady who lives down my street!
Oh, Crap! LMFAO!

Momoa is so scrawny it's gonna be pathetic!
Conan is described in one of his stories as
grabbing a horseman's horse by the front of
it's chest and violently throwing warrior
and horse to the ground, then killing the warrior!
Now does that sound like Momoa to anyone???
DDD
DDD - 3/4/2010, 2:01 AM
Too bad Chris Hemsworth is busy with THOR!
He'd make a great Conan now that he has bulked up!

ecksmanfan: Lang is a fantastic actor. Check out his previous roles in Last Exit to Brooklyn, Gettysburg, Tombstone, Gods & Generals (his best work, IMO). I hope he stays far away from this mess.

AlexDeLarge666: like everything in this film outside having a guy named Conan living in the prehistoric past, Khalar Singh is an invention of the screenplay writers. He never appeared in any of the original stories, nor the pastiches, nor the comics.

DDD: I don't remember Conan doing anything like that, though he has done comparable feats of strength (like throwing boulders and benches few men could even lift, wrestling with giant apes and snakes and what have you). It's either one of the non-Howard stories or the comics, I guess.

wwedx377: Urm, you know Ukafa isn't the main villain? He's Singh's henchman. Though seeing him get beat up is just as groan-inducing.

Hawksblueyes - 3/4/2010, 6:44 AM
DDD: LMAO!! I did't mean that it was a spitting image of Conan. Its too happy a pic of his face and too feminine a wig but I do think it lends itself to showing he could look more like Conan in the face region than Arnold did.

To me Arnold had the size but still looked nothing like Conan should look. Momoa will sadly lack the size.

Shaman
Shaman - 3/4/2010, 7:03 AM
Jazzman- Chris is buff in those pics but he's nowhere near "monster level". He's supposed to have buffed up way more than that but we have yet to have seen it yet. Mamoa is pretty buff too apparently but we haven't seen it either. So i can't say if he'll be able to gain the appropriate mass before shooting. I'll have to wait and see the trailer. I guess, when we think of it, having Lang and ROurke on board really isn't a bad omen! I just hope it at least comes out to be entertaining. I know i probably won't be blown away by it but i hope they're at least as entertaining as the Arnold ones.

vonstallin- Yep! That was my bad LOL ;P But no one can deny that Mamoa has DSLs which really don't go in his favor for this role LOL

Hawksblueyes- You should try to photoshop Conan's crown/tiara on that pic LOL It would make him look a bit more appropriate than what ever he wears on a saturday night for extra cash LOL ;P

Jason Momoa Interview about his training....

you can make a page if you like.

http://blogs.desmoinesregister.com/dmr/index.php/2010/02/19/interview-with-norwalk-conan-star-jason-momoa/

(here are a few exerts.

(The character of Conan is a fictional Cimmerian warrior created in 1932 by Texan writer Robert E. Howard. This will be the third major movie about the 6-foot 2-inch, 210-pound Conan.)

He realizes this will be his biggest role. At 6′5″, he should fill the role nicely. I think Jason is the perfect fit for it, myself.

But if you think he needs more bulk, don’t worry. He’s estimated he’ll be adding 10 pounds of muscle with the help of training with David Leitch and Chad Stahelski. Leitch was a stuntman on The Bourne Ultimatum and Stahelski was the martial arts stunt coordinator for 2 of the The Matrix films. Jason is also is preparing himself for the role by digging more into the books by Robert E. Howard, than film.
