In a pretty awful few days for CBM news I figured this would be worth reporting. El Mayimbe over at Latino Review is reporting that the little dude that played a young Snake Eyes will now be playing a young Conan...

Remember the kid who was bad ass as Young Snake Eyes in the flashback scenes of G.I.JOE?

12 year old actor Leo Howard.

Well I just found out he is playing Young Conan in the Lionsgate "Conan" reboot that Marcus Nispel is directing.

It's a pretty meaty part and the audience's first introduction to Conan for the first 15 minutes or so.



As we know, the role of the older barbarian will be filled by Jason Momoa(queue moaning below!). The only other casting news(rumor) has been that Mickey Rourke may play Conan's father. Pre production is under way in Bulgaria and production is expected to begin next month.

You're right. It was a joke. May it forever be known as GI JOKE.

On another note, i don't care what anyone says, that kid is fugly. Normally i don't say such things out of the blue but since he's on the big screen, it kinda jumps out at ya. I hope he pulls off a "Dakota Fanning" later on and turns into a butterfly, metaphorically speaking of course ;P

And does anyone see any resemblance to Mamoa??? Cause that's really gonna stand out.

Jesus Tea thats extreme! What movie is that from?

You never know with this movie do ya? Momoa isn't a popular choice but until we see some trailers how can anyone really tell?

Ror- Well... Mamoa will be able to pull off the "Barbarian" aspect hands down. But... Conan??? There alot more to the character than just swinging a fierce sword and listening to lamentations of women. I mean, he has to have a certain presence to him which i don't see Mamoa having. I think Cudmore would have been a better choice. Mamoa would have been a kick ass bad guy at the end of the film against Cudmore.

thats not a movie, thats a real video of a guy getting shot for shorting a dealer on the opium crop. its a tough business

as for the movie, i agree with ror, ill wait for some footage before i start whining.

As for the movie, I am waiting to see how much beef Mamoa can put on to look the part. A "scrawny" Conan won't work for me.

Dude...let's be honest, the last two Conan movies though great for their time have not really stood the test of time. Actually, Conan the Destroyer was sooo much worse than the original, but I digress. Until I see Jason Momoa playing the role and either shining or sucking, I'm not jumping on any bandwagons.

Ror - the best thing about GI Joke was that little copy write symbol you see at the end of the credits. I saw that movie on a flight to Florida and asked to get off! Seriously! I couldn't change the channel and had that on three bloody times! I tried not to watch but it was the only way to ignore the wife and kids!

Tea - Those are teeth? I thought they were Ivory headstones for elephant poacher twins!

Shaman - Punch anyone you like, just no touching of the hair or face. Unless it's this kid, he needs a hair cut and facial realignment.
