One of the worst films of 2010 IMO...Though, I hope Part 2 will be MUCH better.

@Lansdowne: I loved all the trailers Warner Bros released. I watched the movie and what, I see only 3-4 scenes in the whole film from those trailers. The movie was boring and nothing happened, so I'm guessing Part 2 will be awesome!

@Reasonnnn: Yep, I think Origins was a cinematic masterpiece. Would you like me to explain why? :P

Intruder, what exactly do you hate from the franchise? Give me a legit reason.

Wolvie09, is this the first Potter film you watched? If so, thats why you thought it was boring, cause you have no idea what is going on. If thats the case, then you are a retard for even going to watch it.

This is the exposition part of the Deathly Hallows, the next part is the series climax, the epic fantasy non-stop action part where everything is resolved.

@JasonAnder: Dude, I HAVE watched every Potter film...Just because I thought this film was crap, doesn't mean I hate the entire franchise...You need to calm down pal.

Intruder, you aren't giving me a reason why you think it lame. It just seems like you are one of the many ignorant [foo foo]s who like to hate on something they clearly never took time to understand and appreciate. What is it? Do you hate how much hype the films get? It's box office gross? The way fans obsess over it? Cause that doesn't happen in HP alone.

You are pathetic.

Wolvie09 - Never said any of that, re-read why my comment was.

"Am I alone in actually appreciating the fact that WB had enough faith in Deathly Hallows to split it into two films and not exactly pander to what the general movie-going audience would have preferred? The way I look at it, either you're on board, or you're not. Either you care about Harry's story and enjoy the films enough to see them through to the end, or you don't. WB knows this, they're on the 7th and 8th films, and they knew the risks involved but did not care because they know that a great film will see success regardless of how much marketing they shove down our throats.

If anything, people need to stop bitching about this moving being "boring" or "nothing happens" and realize that maybe, just maybe, they're treating this like a great film, and not just simply a mainstream money-maker. There are so many instances in Part 1 that tells me that they gave full creative control to Kloves and the filmmakers. Most studios wouldn't have opened the film with character development and emotion like Part 1 did; they would have started it off right before the Death Eater chase.

For example, I commend them for not turning the Snatcher chase into this huge rousing action sequence with blaring music; but rather, holy shit-- they're actually about to get caught-- the cinematography and Desplat's building, atmospheric score was perfect and showed me that they actually care about filmmaking craft instead of sticking to how things would have been done had different filmmakers been in charge.

By favoring the camping scenes and their character development and their atmospherics and not giving two [frick]ing craps whether or not your average Joe thinks they're "boring" and other things throughout the film, other decisions like this (like Harry and Hermione's dance for example) just proves to me that they care about Harry Potter simply beyond how much cash it makes. Deathly Hallows is fantastic because it has full faith in its characters and storyline and I cannot thank the studio and the filmmakers enough for not just that, but by NOT making Part 1 into another shallow mainstream cash-cow."

That is what I think about the movie.
