Green Lantern Ring Could Go to Bradley Cooper

The Green Lantern movie may have found the man to wear the ring in actor Bradley Cooper.

HitFix.com seems to have scored the latest casting scoop on Warner Bros. upcoming Green Lantern movie to be directed by Martin Campbell (Casino Royale). Actor Bradley Cooper, who's in the upcoming film THE HANGOVER, is one of the top contenders for the part and could be the one to wear the GL ring on the big screen.

If you're not familiar with Bradley Cooper you might remember him from having been in THE WEDDING CRASHERS and the horror film THE MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN and now in THE HANGOVER, which comes out this weekend, he continues to make quite a name for himself. As the super hero Green Lantern Bradley could go to even greater heights.

TheMyth - I think for the 1st time I have to disagree with you. (typing that goes against the grain!)

Fillion is great but I just can't see him in this role. His face just looks wrong for the part and he's too tounge-in-cheek for the tone this film needs (IMO).

I still say Sean Patrick Flannery!

Not this guy!!!! I ain't seen wedding crashers but its ALIAS BOY!!!!! Midnight meat train is a cool movie but it was VINNIE JONES that made that!!! This guys such a nerd an gets under your skin!! We want a UNKNOWN that looks the part!!! Guy Pearce???? Hell no, most people see him still from that OZ soap Neighbours as MIKE!! Id rather STAR TREK BOY than him! ; )

Sorry Lee, but most people actually see Pearce as one of the best most versatile actors working today! He would nail Lantern like he would nail any role he was given..but i would actually prefer Fillion..i just think he sounds perfect. This dude i cant place from Wedding Crashers..or anything else..[frick] it, one more rumor!

He was the captain in Serenity and in eh..White Noise 2! lol, he doesnt have a very impressive cv but hes a great actor. Oh hes in Slither too.

a good looking hal jordan. No LEEE777 I doubt Matt Damon could pull it off. Damon is the actor type with the kill the guy ask questions later in all of his movie. They need an actor that has a sense of humor and Bradley Cooper could pull that off.

Umm Matt Damon doesn't have a since of humor? I think you need to go rent some Matt Damon movies. I'm not saying this because I want him to be GL or Cap, but I think he could pull them both off.

Brad cooper is a great actor, he would be a great choice but chris pine is I'll a better bet. Brad did a great job making people hate him in wedding crashers. He was good in Yes Man as well. I wanna see hangover as well.

My vote is for chris pine overall but brad is fine with me

Honestly, I like the idea that they are looking at older, more experienced looking individuals to play the role. I know Bradley Cooper's not the most well known face in Hollywood, but I held higher reservations for Chris Pine because, to me, he just seemd a little too young. Bradley's a good actor, and conveys emotion pretty well on screen... I'm still reserved, but a little more confident in what they are trying to achieve. We'll see.

Thats why I suggested Guy Pearce, he looks a little older but still very clean cut for the role as pretty boy pilot before he gets the ring. I personally think Guy would nail it, and he is a big enough name to draw people to the movie but, not too big.

adamant877--Yeah, Bradley Cooper's 34. I thought they would go much younger than that. I love guy pearce and all but his face is kinda... unusual. His skin looks like its about to rip off revealing a pink eyed albino monkey.

I personally hope they stick with the concept of an older, veteran pilot. Keep him cocky, keep him overconfident, but don't make him a snot nosed punk because people won't like him, and they certainly won't associate with his character.

Bradley Cooper doesn't seem right to me. I ran into an upcoming actor that would be perfect. His name is Erik Fellows. I think a no name should be given the chance on this one. This guy fits the mold. Give him a look!!

I loves me some guy pierce, but I loves me some Cooper too. He's like a less douchey Mathew McConaughey. Don't let wedding crashers curse your view of him. He's untapped for what he can do. Between his more serious roles in Alias and the like, and his comedic stuff in crashers and wet hot American summer, he’s got the chops to play it all. He's a little manlier than pierce too, who comes off a bit too focused and uptight to play a roughneck test pilot. Plus, cooper was in a couple Stella sketches. It puts him in another league for that reason alone.
My money's on cooper. Go get em!
